Day 6 of 9, covering more than 800 miles of bikepacking from the English Channel at Caen to Toulon on the Mediterranean sea in summer 2025. This stage takes us up the valley of the river Lot and into the Causses de Cevennes in the Massif Central, dropping into the Gorges du Tarn at Saint-Eminie. Passing through some of ‘les beaux villages de France’, including St Geniez d’Olt, Estaing, Espalion and St Come d’Olt. It was a shame that one of the best descents of the entire trip was marred not by the downpour that hit just as we got over into the valley but the flippin loose gravel chippings (gravillons) – and you probably thought this was just some daft UK thing!
