Adventurers from Birstall Social Rides do the Coast 2 Coast from Whitehaven to Sunderland over 3 days through Storm Floris

steel, which is exactly the kind of person you want on any. [Music] Let’s go. Oh, it’s switchback Saturday. [Music] So, we’ve just left White Haven. We’re just joining the rail trail. Go. Hello. I’m Ben and I’m having a wonderful time on the coast to coast back. Keep going. Keep going. [Music] [Music] Where did this go? [Music] Ooh. [Music] [Music] So, we’ve just started the climb up the wind latt. [Music] [Music] to go now. Tada. Here we are, kids. Set off this morning from uh White Haven. Got to wind pass uh forestry uh retreat here for a bit of light lunch. Setting off now to Kesi. Got about 25k to go. So, onward and upward and nearly the first day over. Bosch. [Music] We’ve just left Kzik. We’re back on the rail trail. We’re only about 5 km. [Music] [Music] [Music] Woohoo. [Music] beautiful scenery. So, here we are, day two. Glorious weather as predicted. Lake District never disappoints. So we start off this morning, head on up back up to join the coast to coast route, follow on round through to Penri. Um about 40k in and then from there then a long long ride into an expanse of nowhere. There is nothing on there, nothing on route. Go through little villages that I don’t even think have civilization. But at the end of it, we’ll get to his accommodation hopefully by the night time. Um, and at that point then we can hopefully find somewhere to eat, have a drink, and relax. But it’s looking like it’s going to get a lot better through the day. And we’re out riding. So that’s the main thing. Enjoying. Get me straight. [Music] Still raining. [Music] [Music] All about the monkey chain. [Music] [Music] We left Penri a couple of days ago about after having lunch at a nice little cafe we found there and then we started with a nice big climb straight away. Now we’re heading back down the hill a bit on this lovely country lane and we’re going to be going back uphill then quite significantly as we head up onto the penis proper. Hello here again. It’s a bit wet I’ll tell you so I took shelter inside. I’m enjoying the sunshine again now. [Music] That’s hard. [Music] [Music] It’s uh 20 7. We’re just about to get to the top of the final climb today. We’re only 92 km in, but it’s been absolutely brutal with all the extra weight. Then it’s downhill digs for the night. Yeah. [Music] [Applause] This is a really cruel little kick to where we’re staying. [Music] Weird it. This is it. I’ve got good news. Tell me what we got for you. They’ve got milk. [Music] Orange juice and bread. The porridge got bigger. My name otherwise good news. It’s the final day of the coast to coast. We got about 80 kilometers to ride today and it’s quite wet about about roughly at least cuz we came downhill a long way yesterday to where we’ve been staying. We’ve got a long way to go up. Let’s see. We just got back off the actual crush route. Climbing 6 km back out where we stayed. This kicks up deep. [Music] Yes. I’ve never been so fast up the hill before. We just come down off the top of the first climb. That’s the highest point we’ll be today. Oh, there’s the rainbow. Now started the second climb which steps up to a third and then it’s mostly downhill. Should be fairly easy with this wind though following us around. I spoke too soon. It’s a cross headwind going up the hill. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Got a little bit. Not much. Woo! But now it’s funny. [Music] Oh, that was good timing. We just had lunch. A little cafe. I don’t even know what we think. It was weird. Now we’re heading back down to our Sunderland. We only got about 30 km to go. Still windy. Heat. [Music] Heat. That’s nuts. At least that got red on there. Why do we have to call it tide rail?
