Former Manchester United manager Ralph Rangnik created a bizarre scene after choosing to ride an electric bike across the pitch during Austria’s World Cup qualifier against Bosnia and Herziggoina on Tuesday. The 67year-old, who is currently the Austria boss, used the bike for a quick dash from the touchline to the dressing room at halftime, leaving fans amused. His unusual use of the two wheels was however due to a clear reason since he underwent an emergency surgery on his ankle in June but suffered an infection that forced a second operation in July. As such with his mobility limited rang Nick who had a difficult 6 months as United’s interim boss took advantage of the clean energy bike to ease his movement at the stadium Bolino Paul Jin Zenitza having also turned up on it for the pre-match interview joking about opting to ride rather than hobbling and strain his ankle. The German said the walk would have been a bit far otherwise. Meanwhile, it was a good outing for Austria, who won the game 2-1 and boosted their chances of direct qualification by moving level on points with the hosts with a game in hand.
