Ierapetra – Kalamafka – Anatoli – Males – Christos – Mithoi – Mirtos

I started shortly after 07:00 from Ierapetra to go west and later northwest towards the Bramiana dam. First check point was planned to be Kalamafka; a nice village to get a snack and refreshment. This ascend is not trivial. It involves tough slopes that start to become challenging after Bramiana. Good hydration is key.

After Kalamafka I continued southwest towards Anatoli. Another beautiful village with an incredible view towards the sea. This is a gorgeous ride. No traffic, breathtaking scenery.

I decide to ride pass Anatoli and continue northwest with ultimate goal to reach Christos. A village I never visited before with very few inhabitants.

The ride from Anatoli to Christos is just unbelievable! The road is excellent and crosses a beautiful pine forest.

Christs marked the beginning finally of the long wished descend towards Myrtos. Rush downhill as fast as u can. Traffic is almost non present.

The sea level is Myrtos. Another beautiful village on the coast. After a short lemonade and water replenishing I started my return to Ierapetra. This was the bad part. I goes through a very busy street and requires high level of awareness, precaution and attention. Take this warning seriously.

All in all excellent day. Highly recommended.
