All over Europe you will see city bikes available for rent and lots of people using them.

We wanted to know:
– Are they actually cheap to hire?
– Is the App easy to use?
– Can you access the bikes without mobile phone data?
– Are the bikes any good to ride?

In order to activate your account with Veturilo you need to credit your account with at least 10zl ($3.65 AUD, £2.10, $2.65 USD). The 10zl credit gave Tim 3 continuous hours of hire, however if you dock the bikes frequently the 10zl can last you much longer (rates are at 2:06).

If you’re just interested in footage of riding around the streets of Warsaw Poland, then head straight to 4:11 🙂

We left our jobs, sold all of our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!

[Music] so this is just down the road from our hostel and just signed up in the last hour and hoping that I’m going to be able to do it using the app we’ll see important with these hi bikes to make sure you’re not getting one that’s clapped out so I just got to check them all seems simple enough you just download the app and then apparently scan this code and the bikes are flying to you and then you just scan it when you return it at a station or just can use this but some reason it’s not really working I don’t know and I don’t have a data sim so I’ve managed to pick up a Wi-Fi signal and I downloaded the app I’m gonna use the earth alright so couldn’t get the Wi-Fi signal to work so I couldn’t use the app so we’ve come to the next closest one it’s about a couple hundred meters down the road and as you can see there’s no bikes so I’m gonna have to wait around for a bit until someone drops one off or use that one he’s gonna take that one’s broken [Music] that one doesn’t have a chain there’s no chain on that other one that’s right some of it is this is the only problem with you share bike seems like look at all these dogs and only buy this left limit train so you actually just wait around it’s a pretty popular spot cuz we’re right near a tube station makes sense but this seems like the bike share system in Warsaw really works we’ve seen so many people out in bikes these are the rates it’s pretty cheap like you have to put tens a lot easy on first 20 minutes it’s free I can’t imagine you’d get between stations within 20 minutes but one’s a lot he is about 50 cents you put the one down the road it took us five minutes to talk yeah but why would you want to ride two by two blocks on the bike I also have racks so you could go to the shops get some shopping counted around she was riding it looked okay [Music] you do you put your phone number in yes yeah it’s in your phone number Russian phone number my Russian phone number yeah two five seven three five says the bike block code do you want that 50:29 all the bikes come with a lock and when you take it off actually gives you the code I think these processes are always more daunting than what they actually are and then when you do them you realize just how easy it is that’s why every else is doing it it looks like each docking station has a pump and guaranteed the tires are going to be a bit flat so this is another reason why it’s good to have a data soon when you go somewhere because if we had mobile phone data you could just walk up to the bike scan the code and it releases it and then when you dock it back in it automatically registers us back so it’s like super quick and easy if you can use your mobile phone but we all know what happened with that story all righty ready to go [Music] see ya beside of you a few guys again [Music] [Music]

  1. ohhh wow so amazing looks like fun! I'm Polish so I loved riding on those bikes in Warsaw! 😍 it was so enjoyable to watch! new subbie, I hope we'll stay in touch! 🙂

  2. Bikes a such a cool way to see a city! Haha although the process of actually renting it seemed a little bit tricky 😂 it's such bad luck you guys have had with your sims! We have Lyca Mobile sims and they have data roaming across Europe. Don't know if you can get those in Poland, but if you can they are great and then you just need the one sim card!

  3. I am really sad that I haven't found your blog on time to ride with you guys!
Are you coming back to Warsaw after Krakow?
Your new friend in Warsaw 🙂

  4. That is really cheap for those bikes, unfortunate when they are all taken though and then aw man the machine didn't work?! Thats a bummer but atleast you ended up getting one. Having service is a huge key for us while traveling on the road, looked like fun once you got them though!
