Had a Canyon CF SLX 9 2022 frame in surplus with an official 32mm tire clearence.
Bought a second hand Sram Force XPLR 12-speed groupset that works with the standard Dub BB (not the wide version).
Bought a pair of second hand 650b Alchemist Gravel carbon race wheels very cheap. Matched them with Terra Speeds 40mm at the front and 35mm at the back. Still some clearance, but the choices are limited when it comes to 650b semi slick tires (when riding gravel I am maybe on 60% tarmac and 40% gravel). Weight of the bike as pictured, with pedals, mounts etc is 7,85kg.
The Endurace could be a capable gravel bike if matched with 650b wheels is my opinion. For sure it is an affordable conversion if you have the frame.
I am only occasionally riding gravel, focusing mostly on road, so it is a backup bike…. Sort of.
