the head and without the without the legs but uh it’s even better the feeling it’s even uh even better. I know how how hard you’re suffering and struggling because of the problem you had. You said you got sick but you wanted to be part of this success. Yeah, of course I wanted and uh uh I think today was really really hard and uh we start with a plan and uh we did it. I I we tried many times in this weather and uh was not easy for us and yeah today we I think we we really need to enjoy. It’s big for you and the team Julio. What big win? Yeah. Yeah, it’s a big win and we are really happy and it almost seemed like UAE was going to pick up another win with Jay Vine up the road at one point. Yeah, I think they went quite far and super fast and in one moment we also we was a bit scared because we start to pull full gas and we didn’t gain time. So yeah, but in the end we I see Matsi won and uh we just did the hour plan and we are super happy. Did you see the crash of Romo and the protester coming in the road? Yeah, I saw this guy coming from the left and uh but I didn’t see the crash and yeah, I was scared. Thanks. A little bit getting into the pelaton and uh yeah, I hope the guys that crashed are okay. Yeah, talking about uh what the crash there at Thoromo. Yeah, the guy ran out of the trees unexpectedly. He and I was actually glad that he fell beforehand because if he didn’t fall, he would have come straight into us and a lot more guys would have filed. But I hope the guys that crashed are okay because you never want to see that in um in a bike race, you know. But hope, as I said, I don’t know how they are. Um that’s what I see. Eddie, you gave a congrats to Mads there at the final after the finish. What did you say to him? I just said well done. He’s an incredibly strong bike rider. Um I’ve been up the road with him once already in this race and uh yeah, it’s incredible the power he has and he he deserved to win today. You know, he was the reason that break stayed away. seven guys and uh yeah to finish it off the way he did um it’s pretty it’s impressive but yeah he’s he’s one of the best bike riders in the world so you’d expect that of him picnic uh did well to get the the men on the move today but missing the split for the team was uh I’m sure you guys were getting an earful from the Diaz back there. Yeah, it’s uh we were hearing on the radio we needed to be in the front and uh obviously that was cool, but uh yeah, I was pretty pretty uh tired after yesterday and um just yeah, didn’t have the legs in the final. So, uh h it’s pretty it’s a bummer to again be in a move that uh that sticks but not to get it right at the end. Um but uh yeah, today I was really on my limit just to even make it in the move and then in the final in that climb just stay in the the group behind was uh was not easy. Vervak and Vine were up the road but that split with uh that eventually formed the Person group. What happened when that split? What was going on and kind of what were the dynamics that saw you guys miss it? Yeah, it was the last kicker with uh maybe 25K to go or so. Not exactly sure, but um I don’t know if it was Peterson who kicked it off first or or I think Inos was Sheffield really let it up on the climb and uh the split just went on legs. It was single foul behind and uh guys were letting the wheel go and it was just a case of trying to uh regroup behind and there were quite a few teams that had a guy on the front so uh weren’t so many teams chasing behind but enough to still keep the gap close enough they were hoping at the end and uh yeah Juan and uh highest really did well to try and pull and uh we wanted to sprint with Bion but uh didn’t quite get it right. Were you near and did you see what happened with the Romo crash and what’s your what was your take on that? Yeah, we were riding and then all of a sudden this uh Palestinian protester ran out of the uh out of the woods and then the the cops were running from the other side of the road and uh yeah, you’re one second you’re all in the line just holding the wheel and then uh everyone’s breaking in front and you don’t know what’s going on and I think it was just a touch of wheels uh when the guy in front up and uh Romo or I think it was quick guy maybe I don’t know who else went down but uh yeah I mean you don’t you don’t expect the these things to happen so can catch you by surprise. And you’re out there, you’re you’re trying and that was one of the hard ones today, I think, uh with the escape right from the gun with the two climbs. Um were you happy with the day but upset I guess you didn’t make that final split with Person? Yeah. No, I I made a mistake on the last climb. I tried to follow Quacowski thinking he was attacking, but he was just trying to launch his teammates, so I kind of ran out of legs. Um and then I was just trying to bring them back so Lucas could sprint, but I think they stayed away in the end. Uh yeah, the the the Person group and Person won the sprint and we didn’t have the first part televised, but it looked like Kioski and and um and Vine were the instigators of the escape today early on. What did you see? Uh honestly, I don’t know. So there was a group of like 30 guys and uh our director Juan Ma said he wanted another one across so I jumped across in a group of like 10 or 20 and that’s I don’t know I don’t know who was at the front but uh they made it hard for us to catch them. Um but yeah it’s been a bit bit of a rough week up and down week for for myself and the team. So happy to get to the rest. Some scary moments out there as well with the crash of Romo. Did you see that? Uh yeah. Uh that was a little ridiculous. Um I mean that’s an example of the danger fans can cause or not fans, but yeah, this guy ran in the middle of the road when we were going like 60k an hour. So then I think a couple guys just crossed wheels, but looked like Romo came back. So good for him.

  1. We have to help our left wing brothers protest. * Defund the police * Vote left wing * throw soup on Western paintings in museums * sit in the road

  2. If that protester has caused career threatenning injuries…I hope he is charged and sued accordingly. A stupid protester action that will have zero effect on their desired outcome. Things will end if hostages are released…they should protest against those refusing to release the hostages…..its not exactly rocket science.
    KEEP OUT OF SPORTS!

  3. This is a chain of actions whose impact is hard to imagine. Instead of protests that could put the riders in danger, efforts should be directed at the UCI's sponsors.

  4. It looked like it was the police officer running across the road who indirectly caused the accident when another rider braked to avoid collision and Romo caught his wheel. The idiot ,(not a "fan") running from the otherside fell into the ditch and didn't make contact with any riders. It's not clear if his action was even noticed by the riders, as he was in the shadow of the trees.
