Le maillot vert de cette Vuelta remporte ainsi son premier succès de cette édition, la quatrième au total en carrière. Une petite libération pour Lidl-Trek qui courait après ce succès.

An obviously eventful start to the stage on this 15th stage of the Vuelta a España between A Veiga/Vegadeo and Monforte de Lemos, with no less than 3,000 meters of elevation gain spread over the 167.8 kilometers of the race.
