So I have seen posts here and articles saying the main problem of the front block is that it is mounted to the body and is as strong as the 2 screws holding it there. I have seen some mounts similar to this online and wanted to know how good they are at increasing the weight capacity of front mounted bags. Does this work or is a gimmick?

Those mounts are for bikes without integrated mounts on the frame.
How much weight you want to put on a carrier block? It is rated for 10kg. And on my experience it getting kinda hard to handle the bike at 7kg, especially on bad roads.
Eerder do one that wraps the headtube and has no weight restriction.
I’ve loaded it so much you can pick the bike up by the bars and it stays level
