During the Summer of 2022, YES Outdoors donated a large number of bikes to Ukrainian refugees living in Islington. Each bicycle came complete with a new set of lights, lock and a helmet.

i have come to london not as a tourist but as ukrainian refugee no it’s not easy to be by yourself with free kids we are in the business design centre in islington who have generously given up their space and also generously donated to our big bike appeal the big bike appeal was in collaboration with yes outdoors and isn’t giving we took bikes that were abandoned and recovered all over isington making them roadworthy again and then providing them for people who we thought would need them so we have about 300 families being hosted in issington from ukraine i want to to feel the same when i live in my hometown i had a bike now with this bike in summer in london i i feel much better like at home yeah it was his dream my son’s dream to get the bike he was so happy about it just now you can see how happy he is because it was really his dream because at home he has a bike yeah and he really misses it we launched a fundraising appeal on social media to raise funds the business design centre very generously matched donations pound-for-pound up to a thousand pounds seeing people just popping their stuff in a basket and kind of wheeling out the bikes just so overjoyed i can’t thank yes outdoors and isn’t giving enough for involving us in such a great project thank you very much thank you very much let’s say thank you thank you i would like to say thanks a lot to the charity fund yes outdoors they will for sure enjoy not only the riding the bicycle now they will have the feeling that they have some kind of peaceful life again that they had before the war started in our beautiful country ukraine you
