Day 16 of our cycle ride through France and a glorious pedal along the Roger Lapebie Trail into Bordeaux…
.
We cycled in sunshine and pouring rain, but had the most lovely day, pottering through the vineyards and rolling countryside, on our way into the city…
.
Almost 1100km pedalled now and it’s hard to believe that a week ago, we were cycling into Angoulême to watch the rugby.
.
An early night for us tonight, as we have a train to catch just after 6am, to be back in time for Provence Rugby’s first home match of the season…
.
It’s been an amazing 2 weeks of cycling through this beautiful country …
.
It’s not quite over, but nearly!
.

It’s raining. It’s definitely raining. Today started early and we pushed our bikes out of the house and set off along the quiet roads, said hello to the cows, watched the wine harvest in action, and pedled along these beautifully quiet roads. I overtook someone and treated ourselves a second breakfast before joining the Roger Lacabby trail. Glorious cycle route from Soft Term all the way through to Bordeaux. We went under bridges, cycled through beautiful cutings, found Rapunzel’s castle, and disappeared into a tunnel. Happily, just as I was getting worried, the lights came on. [Applause] He cycled out of it in the sunshine [Applause] then stopped for lunch in the pouring rain before arriving in Bordeaux. Nearly,00 kilometers down the west of France we celebrated with beer and tomorrow it’s on the train back to Provence for tomorrow night’s rugby. Alle Noir, thanks for following us on this latest little journey. [Applause]
