So, you’re dreaming about France. Let me guess. You’ve got that classic glittery Eiffel Tower shot bouncing around in your head. Maybe with a perfect beret and a striped shirt to match. It’s a beautiful dream. But what if I told you the best, most unforgettable French memories happen when you skip the obvious and peak behind the velvet curtain? What if the real magic isn’t where the crowds are, but where they aren’t? Today, we’re doing exactly that. We’re diving into five spots that’ll make you fall completely head over heels in love with France. From a secret rainbow colored Paris alley to an honest to goodness time machine village carved into a cliff. And before we roll, don’t forget we’re running a $50 giveaway at 250 subscribers. All you have to do is like, share, and subscribe for your chance to win. Also, if you haven’t watched my recent video about Iceland’s unreal beauty, make sure to check it out. It’s linked in the description and the iCard button above. Let’s roll. Paris, but the side they don’t show in postcards. Look, Paris is always a good idea, but it’s so much more than 2-hour lines just to glimpse the Mona Lisa or paying €7 for an espresso on the Shamsé. Let’s find the real pulse of the city. Duck onto Ru Crimia at sunrise. The air is still, the light is soft, and you’re standing in a silent alley of pastel houses in shades of lemon, lavender, and mint. It’s pure, crowd-free Instagram gold. For breakfast, skip the tourist traps and find Dupy Day. Their pistachio escargo pastry is a buttery, flaky swirl so ridiculously good, it basically ruins normal croissants forever. Seriously. Then spend the afternoon on the prominade plante, the original Parisian Highline, a magical elevated park where wild roses spill over old train tracks and locals jog past with fresh baguettes tucked under their arms like relay batons. This is the same Paris, just the cooler, more intimacy. Guir Valley, aka Castle Heaven. Hop on the TGV highspeed train, and in 54 minutes flat, you’re catapulted out of the city and into a full-on fairy tale. Here the vineyards roll out like green corduroy blankets and majestic castles pop out of the misty forest like some giant doodled them there for fun. Start at the magnificent Chateau de Chenoso. Yep, that’s the one that gracefully arches right over the river share. It’s a masterpiece shaped by six powerhouse women who designed its Renaissance curves and wartime wings. Standing in its grand hall, you can practically feel the echoes of centuries of drama and intrigue. For a perfect afternoon, rent an ebike in the charming town of Ambois and follow the Lir trail along the river. By lunchtime, you could be at the colossal chateau de Shamboard, sipping a glass of bubbly vuvet that the wine maker just pulled from his own garden shed. Pro move. Sleep in a troglodite cave hotel in Samore, the ancient rock wall. Keep the wine celler perfectly chilly and the breakfast cheese exquisitly runny. It feels like you’re living in Middle Earth, but with excellent French Riviera, minus the price tag, panic. The drive from Nice to Monaco is only 22 km. Yet, every stunning bend in the road feels like a journey to a new, more beautiful planet. The trick is to skip the chaotic peak season of July and August when super yachts blot out the sun. Instead, come in May. The sweet scent of mimosa blossoms drifts down from the hills above ez a medieval village perched on a cliff and the very air smells like pure vacation. Take a leisurely walk along the caparat coastal path. It’s a chill three-mile loop that takes you past the hidden backyards of billionaires and down to tiny turquoise coes you’ll want to keep entirely to yourself. In Antib, wander through the vibrant provenal market where vendors sell saka so fresh that the steam from the hot crispy chickpea crepe warms your hands right through the paper cone. Wind up your day in Vil Franchare as the historic harbor begins to glow a soft warm pink at dusk. A scene filled with far more weathered fishing boats than camera toading influencers. Budget bonus. The one50 Cornish bus offers the exact same jaw-dropping coastal view as a Bent Provence, lavender, hilltop villages, and 10:00 a.m. wine. Imagine waking up in Jerusalem, a village where the surrounding ochre cliffs blaze in shades of rust and gold, looking like they’re perpetually on fire at sunrise. Every ancient doorway seems to be guarded by a regal cat that demands your respect. From there, drive the plateau to Valen Soul in late June. You’ll be surrounded by endless purple lavender rose that blaze under a crazy bright sun with the buzzing soundtrack of cicas cranked up to full volume. Don’t miss Gourds, a village that sits dramatically on a rock spur, looking like a magnificent sand castle built against the sky. Hit the Tuesday market there for a round of local cheese wrapped in chestnut leaves. A flavor so rich and earthy it should probably be illegal. Just 1 hour south, you’ll find the Pont Duggard, a towering Roman aqueduct that still carries hikers across its ancient sunbaked arches like a granite rainbow. Finish your day at a familyrun vineyard near Chatau Deop, where the owner might pour you a generous glass at 10:00 a.m. and just shrug, “Hey, it’s Friday somewhere.” I’m not arguing with that. Carcasson and Rocomodor full-on time travel. For the grand finale, fly southwest to the historic Oetana region. Arrive at Carcasson’s doublewalled fortress as it turns a magical honey gold at sunset. Take a walk along the ramparts after 6:00 p.m. Once the daytime crowds have vanished, and the only sounds you’ll hear are the calling of Jack Daws and your own footsteps echoing across 800 years of history. The next day, make your way to Roa Madora, a sacred cliffside village stacked up the rock face like a library of stone books with each chapel representing a different page from pilgrimage history. Climb the 216 steps of the Grand Escalier on your knees as pilgrims have for centuries to reach the basilica. Inside you’ll find the revered black Madonna, the air thick with the scent of walnut wood and ancient faith. Your knees will be shaking as much from the breathtaking view as from the climb itself. And if your legs file a formal complaint, the glasswalled elevator built right inside the rock is a $2.50 ride that will still completely melt your brain. Before you leave, grab a tin of Roa Madora goat cheese, a local specialty so unbelievably creamy, you’ll want to eat it with a spoon. Quick favor, hit pause right now and tell me in the comments which of these spots just rocketed to the very top of your bucket list. I genuinely read every single five places, five completely different vibes. The hush secrets of Paris, the storybook castles of the Lir, the sundrenched calm of the Riviera without the sticker shock, the purple striped fields of Provence, and the medieval stones of Oxatini that hold a better memory than any of us. Go see them for yourself before they become tomorrow’s most famous postcards. If this saved you a month of research, do me a favor and smash that subscribe button. I’ve got so many more quiet corners of Europe just waiting for your passport.
