Hey r/vintagebicycles,
I’m looking for some help valuing my 1991 Nishiki Trim Master, made in Japan. It’s got a pretty unusual triple-triangle frame design (similar to GT bikes and Shogun bikes in America, but Nishiki’s version) and is still equipped with its original Shimano Exage 500EX components.
Details:
- Model: Nishiki Trim Master
- Year: 1991 (per serial)
- Origin: Made in Japan
- Groupset: Shimano Exage 500EX (derailleurs, shifters, brakes, crankset)
- Frame: Chromium-molybdenum
- Size: 585
I don’t see these pop up often, and I’m curious what the ballpark value might be in today’s market. I'd also like to know does the rarity of this frame design make it more interesting to collectors, or is it more of a quirky footnote?
Thanks a ton — excited to hear what you all think about this somewhat unusual Nishiki!
