Thanks to our Plan for Change and our commitment to build 1.5 million homes, as well as new railways, schools and hospitals, we need to secure our steel making capacity in the UK.
On Saturday 12 April the government stepped in to save British Steel and to protect 2,700 jobs in Scunthorpe and another 37,000 jobs in the supply chain.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is central to the mission-driven government, from fixing the foundations of an affordable home to handing power back to communities and rebuilding local governments.
