Day 28 of The Long Ride to Byzantium
HUNGARY ➡️ SOMBOR, SERBIA (50 km)
After 8 days in Hungary, it was finally time to cross into Serbia. Hungary left a mark on me — fascinating country, and of course I couldn’t leave without one last bite of tasty lángos.
Before the border I YOLO’d straight through heavy rain showers, got completely soaked, and honestly had a blast. Crossing the border itself was surreal — a barbed-wire fence marking the edge of the EU, and it made me reflect on divisions, borders, and the journey I’m on.
Rolled into Sombor, a beautiful Serbian town, and the adventure continues.
