Although I had a good start for this race – I had resigned myself to an expected 15th to 20th place at the finish line because i could see several of the regular dead strong riders.
35:38 El Mero passes me and moves in to 7th place. Everyone else is a few hundred metres ahead. At the end of the race he shows as having taken 2nd place
1:14:12 bart has caught me (has taken 1035m of climbing to do so). I have been pushing hard on the climb so when he attacks in a few seconds I decide to slow a little out ofrespect and not follow the chase right away. If someone has tried so hard to gain an advantage then they deserve that small victory. I had originally expected a 15th to 20th placement anyway – so am still in a great position

The hill climb – i spent that effort trying to not allow alex to get within 100m of me

1:19:47 – my race is over so anything for the next 30 mins or so is just showing the other riders who were still racing
finished in 10th place because El Mero was disqualified (guy who passed me at 35:38 )
