Today’s little video of our ride down through the salt-marshes from Rochefort to Saint Sornin, via the beautiful old town of Brouages…
.
We took the bikes on the transporter bridge and pedalled our way through the wildlife-filled marshes to the old port, that has long-since been silted up…
.
Then into Bourcefranc for lunch, by the bridge to the Ile d’Oleron, a place we have visited so many times before, and finally onto a campsite in Saint Sornin, which we last stayed on in 1999, which seems ridiculous! How are we that old?
.
On again tomorrow and we have Angoulême in our sights. Our tickets are booked and we’ll be there shouting on Provence, at 7.30 on Friday evening.
.
The weather is coming in, so we think we’ll have to re-jig our planned route a bit, to try to avoid the worst of it, but that’s all part of our adventure…
.
On again tomorrow to the far side of Cognac …. A brandy may be needed!
