Ministers could face further legal challenges over asylum hotels after a council was granted a temporary injunction blocking migrants from being housed there.
Nigel Farage hailed the High Court decision in Epping as a “victory” and said he hopes it “provides inspiration to others across the country”, while the shadow home secretary argued that residents have “every right to object” to people being housed in their area.
The Home Office had warned the judge that an injunction could “interfere” with the department’s legal obligations, and lawyers representing the hotel’s owner argued it would set a “precedent”.
Epping Forest District Council had asked a judge to issue an interim injunction stopping migrants from being accommodated at the Bell Hotel.
The hotel has been at the centre of a series of protests in recent weeks after an asylum seeker who was staying there was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Strange how Reform are saying this, but they did NOT attend, did they…. none of them.
Why do Labour not deport these criminal illegals? Because they are using them to destroy the UK and they are so stupid they think they can grant them all amnesty and citizenship and receive their vote after distributing them in blue counties so these rabid communist will never be excised from power! erm…. don;t want to point out the obvious here but Reform only has 6 out 54 seats in the Epping Council. It's a majority Conservative council. Praise should go to Conservatives (I am not a tory fan btw) . Zia Yusuf, the party chairman at the time , confirmed on BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg that Reform UK would employ “every instrument of power available,” including legal challenges, to block asylum seeker housing in their controlled councils. He highlighted that their legal teams are exploring whether hotels repurposed as hostels violate planning or licensing regulations. They never did it, Reform are like the rest of them, a party of words and no action.

What’s the total number of asylum seekers in the UK? How many years does it go back? It’s a big mish mash. Applications for asylum, rejections, reapplications, visa applications to stay etc. How many applications are there? Maybe someone was classed as an asylum seeker and they are now classified as something else. So what’s the grand total???
