It’s still part of my long ride route. This part is more about the super fun “downhill” between the 2 small climbs.
I actually missed the real start of the first climb, as it came just after the downhill from the Pays des Collins woods, but to be honest, I did not see anything that looked like a hill. Suddenly, the road heads upwards for no reason, and you slug your way up a 5.5% climb over 1.2km, the “Grinquier Jusque split” (as per Strava) heads up past a farmstead. Just before hitting a false flat, you hit the max of 12%.
From here, you cross over the higher landscape between wooded parts until you hit the nicest downhill in the area. This little narrow road that twists its way down, covered by trees, is just pure bliss. Unfortunately, it is an open road and not easy to spot oncoming traffic, so be careful.
Just before the end, you hit another small sting, the “Rue des Bruyéres bos” . Taking the right turn suddenly wakes up your legs with 6.3% average over 310m. A small peak of 12.6% at the left hand turn and then finishing of with a lead in into the last part of the downhill.
Its kinda in the middle of nowhere, but I’ll record the segment going up this downhill in the near future, as it promises to be as stunning going up as coming down.
Enjoy, and thanks for joining.
