    Rival protesters face off at Portsmouth migrant hotel protest



    Immigration protesters carrying Union flags faced off against anti‑racism demonstrators in Portsmouth city centre, as police looked on while both groups gathered on the steps outside the council offices.

    One protester fastened a large St George’s flag to a balcony bearing the words “Born in England, Live in England, Die in England,” while counter‑protesters unfurled a banner reading “Refugees Welcome, Celebrate Diversity.”
