Lads, looking for a new road bike for endurance rides (randonneuring, 12+hrs) / group rides, Budget: Ideally $1500-1700 or under, but have room to flex. Optimizing for comfort (32mm+ tires). Ideally Hydro Disc, 105 equivalent or better, but ultimately not racing so not as important.
Most of the the older-gen CF bikes on marketplace are rim-brakes, many of the AL disc frames have Tiagra or worse.
Currently looking at these:
- $2000 54cm 2021? Specialized Aethos
- CF, 11spd 105 (mechanical), Dual sided Magene PM. Wheels ???
- Might be a bit small
- $1800 56cm 2023 Cannondale CAAD13
- AL 12spd rival axs with power meter. DT e1800 Alloy Wheels
- $450 56cm 2021 BMC Roadmachine X (manufacturer)
- AL, 1×11 Apex, Stock wheels. Went to see this one in person, scratches on frame, rear brake pad needs replacing, front brake pad needs realignment, needs a re-bleed, bar tape cooked, headset might be due for new bearings.
- $1500 2021 M Canyon Endurace 8
- CF, 11spd 105, all stock.
- $1150 56cm 2021 Cannondale Synapse (man-sub)
- AL, 11spd 105, mech disc
- $2000 Orbea Orca M30 (new)
- out of my budget, but nice. CF 12spd 105.
