“It was a Sunday. There were kids in the park.”

Illegally riding his motorbike in Darlington, Karl Burnside reached speeds of 80mph when he sped away from police motorcycle officers.

During a lengthy pursuit, the 20-year-old ran red lights, rode on the wrong side of the road, and entered a public park filled with unsuspecting pedestrians.

But due in part to this TEXTBOOK stinger deployment, Burnside was brought to a halt shortly after.

  1. I don’t know why they bother, everyone knows the court’s always give them a slap on the wrist. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas and judges don’t put their best customers away, the system is corrupted.

  2. He used the wrong technique… the stinger is supposed to hit the helmet, removing the visor and finally making the rider unable to ride faster as the wind makes the eyes a bit teary.
And well the hit in the helmet and knocking him off….

  3. I have to say that action looked rather reckless to me. There were pedestrians on the far pavement , had that speeding bike lost control they could easily have become innocent victims . Whilst I appreciate the police position in this chase that might not have been the time or place to operate a stinger.
