I would say that small roads are never dangerous, it's the run in towards a small road that is dangerous.

Something, that made it for me even more special, what you don't really see in the TV Picture, is the short but steep ramp you have on the last 450m. When I raced the casual everybody race earlier that day, I was shocked, how long those last 450m are. They feel like an eternity, with the long curve and slight gradient. You only really see the finish line at like 100m.

Fantastic win…. Hard to bead an 🇮🇪 champion on form 😊 but Credit to the whole break away!! Silly Pelaton underestimated them 😂 hopefully Townsend will get picked for Vuelta now 🤞🏻🤞🏻

reminded me of the Hammer Series from a while ago, when the young Remco kept pounding the whole peleton every time they go up the short punchy climb, until 100 grown men fell apart trying to keep up with the teenager. These short punchy repeats really make the race a lot more unpredictable because no one would have any clue what kind of power profile you'd have to do so it's near impossible to have a pre-determined race plan.
Classic reminder that no favorite is ever safe.
