I'm worrkng on a Surly LHT with (46-36-24) 3×9 (11-34) drivetrain and Shimano bar-end friction shifters. FD needs replacement and book replacement Shimano Sora FD-3030 pushes from 36T chainring to 46T chainring in the stand but cannot reliably shift under load, I think I'm running into this "Sneakypull FD Problem." https://www.rivbike.com/pages/watch-out-for-sneakypull-derailers-if-youre-using-friction-shifters?srsltid=AfmBOoqB69J3cJVOVL4XToaaEKUadqSLtQgZuF5sEbWpRtEU8WeIbpO2
Has anyone worked through this before and what was your solution? It's interesting because this seems to counter the "friction shifters work with everything" notion.
Note: Before you post about limit screw and derailleur placement, know that I understand each and have spent a good amount of time trying to make this work. Thanks!
