*RELIEF is probably what describes my mood when I got to my friends’ home – Mas de Gasc*
After a week and 1600 odd heat-oppressive miles in the saddle, my backside was due a rest – I needed shade and some time immersed in a swimming pool !! My friend Jean-Denis is one of my oldest friends. My mother and his started writing to each-other after the liberation of France in 1944 and we first met when I was 8 and he was 7 years old. He and his wife, Regine are amongst our closest friends and his family are “our” family in France! They live in a beautiful Mas (farm) and choose the traditional Provençal lifestyle – every meal uses local ingredients and Regine makes her own dressings and sauces without making it look difficult!
The first day I was there, I simply relaxed and visited the pool and took a long siesta!! On the second, I insisted on taking them for lunch – they surprised me by going to the restaurant at the Pont du Gard – the Roman aqueduct; eating in the lea of this imposing structure that has survived 2000 years.
I did not touch the bike, the Yamaha XSR125, while I was there.
I was going to be sad leaving but the “present Mrs Little” and the builders are waiting in our house with no kitchen 😆

It's amazing those old Roman structures have stood the test of time.
your friends property looks amazing mate lovely place to catch your breath
Looks a lovely part of the world Rob. Glad you had a well deserved rest at your friend’s wonderful home. That pool looked very inviting. Having packed so light, I’m guessing you swam in your underpants.
Nice video rob. It’s like a different world how the other half live. But would we get fed up of the heat.
The new over safety culture is a bit intrusive now days.
Nice episode Rob , beautiful scenery, you are a lucky chap . Thanks for the entertainment 👍
Those old Masons knew their craft, I dont suppose many modern buildings will last this long
a really enjoyable video
If that aquaduct was in this country there would be huge screens to stop you jumping off it. Bit like Clifton suspension bridge
Another fab video Rob. Thoroughly enjoyable. 👍

That's civilised touring, Rob! So nice to be able to take a break and relax in pleasant surroundings in the company of good friends. 👍
