I have had this bike since 2009. It was originally my mother's.
She bought it at Wheel & Sprocket in Milwaukee area, sometime around 1978-1979. She said it was one of her first purchases after starting work full time, post high school.
I'm not very knowledgeable about bikes, but it seems to have both aluminum and chrome parts. I assume steel frame. It does have a quick release front tire which I think is pretty cool.
The paint has started to get rusty spots. Such a pretty color. (Any tips on fixing the rust?)
In 2012 it was in a bike corral owned by the university, their maintenence staff cut down a tree nearby and it crashed onto my bike, bending the back tire rim. I took it to a shop to have the rim fixed. It was only an outside bike from 2009-2012, otherwise has been a garage bike.
I have replaced the tires twice now with gumwall ones, like the original were.
It is a very quick bike! Faster than I'm comfortable with on roads! I wish I had a wide open pavement to go super fast!
