Entrance to this area is more akin to the graveyard scene from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, with spooky ramshackle Churches and said Grave Yard gives for total effect.
We are camped under a canopy of trees which threw up a starry night to assist with ones slumber .
The ingenious plan of no flysheet for the Starry Concerto last night ,invoked the God of rain in the morning and thankfully we had only a sprinkle to awaken from it’s arrival.
The bike riding is off the charts, Chateaus galore, picturesque towns and fields of Sunflowers.
The previous night in the town of Chalus threw up the place where Richard the Lionheart expired from a French Crossbow along with where Lawrence of Arabia stopped on his way Cycling through the region!!!!
Chatting with British Expats prior to them been taken away, so as to be introduced to a quintessential towns residents collection of Antique Doll houses which he maintains miticilousy in the downstairs of his house!!
Crispy French Baguettes strapped across the bike, flavors of Liver Pate and Garlic Sausage tantalizing ones taste buds whilst on route.
The French seem to beat to their own drum, shops tend to be more closed than open and thus forces oneself to plan accordingly.
I don’t mind this as inadvertently it forces you to slow down.
