Scored this pretty neat-o 80’s Raliegh off the interwebs. It’s in fine condition for its age, in the meantime I’ve done some reading up on this particular bicycle. The 531 Reynolds is pretty renowned for its awesome ride quality, I think the ST “Super Tourist” tubing is maybe just a teensy bit stiffer for loading? Unsure, will report back.
Or if you know, please chime in! This bicycles intended purpose is for lighter load/zippier rides. As, I already have a serious heavy loaded touring bicycle. Admittedly, this bicycle was not a total accident purchase, I was looking for the “Randonneur” model, cause us junkies gotta get the top tier model, right. However, I think this frame & the Rando are remarkably similar, even down to the tubeset of this particular year model. With the exception of the Rando model having spare spokes on the chainstay. I could be wrong. Idk.
Thanks for reading! Very happy!
