Today I share some snippets from my three days in Düsselforf, starting out with a full day of eating German food, ranging from a massive breakfast, raw pork on bread and topped off with pork knuckle, sausages, sauerkraut and lots of potatotes. Unexpected there’s a quite big Asian area with stores and restaurants so we went for Japanese ramen for lunch and biked around both sides of the city, to then chill by the water front, have gelato and finish off with an amazing Xinjiang Chinese meal and dessert. The last day we went to flea market combined with a food indulgence. Definitely a very livable and beautiful city!

They even have this yellow canerel mushrooms here in the background. You can pick them in the forest in Sweden, but apparently also here in Germany. Okay. So, in Germany, you have to drink beer. And the out beer is the local one. So, we’re going to try that, of course. So, cheers. And let’s enjoy. Okay. Time to move on. And we got the rental bike here. Almost like China. You can pick them in the street here. Now, let’s bike and explore further. Very green and lush. But now we’re arriving to the food street. Time for some Japanese ramen. So, apparently it’s called the little Tokyo here with a lot of cool restaurants. But let’s go in and get some ramen. Okay, so we got the food. Let’s enjoy this. Super cool Japanese place here. Quite authentic. I was in Japan last year actually. So, nice to enjoy a lot of good Japanese food here in the background. But now we’re going to go exploring and do the biking. So see you on there. You won’t know you’re in Germany when you have mirrors everywhere. Really convenient store. Very convenient. Actually, when exploring this Asian neighborhood, we found a lot of cool stores selling Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean stuff. And we find my favorite here, the Lagama chili spice here. Amazing for cooking. And of course, you have the from Vietnam. Great stuff. It’s really cool being out biking actually. You see a lot more of the city there with the parks and very biking friendly I must say. And the diesel coming back in the canal here. We’re going to switch over and go to the bridge I think to the other side. So continue biking. Interesting. We’re going on this path. Biking up in a circle here. Good. We have gears on this bike. Now we actually see the tower here in the background and on the other side the river down here. We walked. Pretty cool, I would say. So after crossing the bridge, we have a lot of beautiful houses here on the other side of the river. You can turn around here. A lot of people biking and hanging out in the park here. You also have the water on the other side. People running here. A really nice little city here. Actually, you can definitely spend the whole day just biking around this city. So many cool places to see. And now it’s Friday, so they have the tents out with the food stalls and lot of cool stuff along the river. Now we almost backed around the whole circle around the city now. Can visit one final thing here. We have the big tower here in the background and then we’ll see walk back. Now we stopped in the kind of fancy area. They have these boats in the background. It used to be an old port area that they converted but now you have all this fancy business district all this way. You can bike and walk. Really cool actually. Great for just very active lifestyle. Now we’ve parked the bikes. It’s time to relax a little bit here next to the water. You have a lot of cool restaurants and cafes and snacks and even some ice cream here in the background. Let’s sit down a bit and check. Seems like we found some Japanese theme and street market festival going on here. A lot of cool snacks here in the background, but we just ate and we’re going to have some Chinese food soon. So, I think we’ll save some space. But great to see a lot of this festival feeling here in the summer. After all the walking, it’s time for some gelato here. And luckily we have an Italian friend with us. So it’s approved. So we’re going to check it. Definitely find some nice ice cream here with tiramisu flavor and chocolate. Can’t go wrong with some dams or chart. Great stuff. Okay, so that was a pretty epic meal as always when you have Chinese. A lot of dishes to share, but that’s the best part. You have like seven or eight people or something like that. Now we’re out walking. See if we can find a dessert place. Also nice here. But I think it’s time to go and sleep after that. So, we’ll see see what we can find some dessert. Okay, so it’s the final day in this alert, the day after that massive Chinese feast and also a bit of a dessert. Now, we’re out exploring a local market and there’s a lot of fruit here and also food in the background. And you can buy a lot of interesting stuff here. Going to walk around and explore a bit. Have some final moments here before heading back to China. But really bigger actually, really cool. So yeah, I’ll see if I find something interesting. See you guys around. Found a lot of cool dried fruits here in the background like dates, peaches, apricots. Reminds me a bit of shing jang in China, northwestern world there, I think. Let’s see if we can find some proper food around. Finally find a great selection of foods here. And we have some German sausages. Have some Middle Eastern English and hummus. Let’s enjoy Germany by after quite heavy meal with the sausages here. Very tasty. I think it’s time to walk around and check a little bit more then start heading back to the airport. It’s been a really cool day exploring here and of course this whole trip to Germany and also before that France and Sweden has been amazing. Time that back to China now.
