
Hey all,
I’ve been practising bunny hops for a hot minute now and occasionally it clicks and I’m sweet for a day or a week. Then comes the dreaded relapse of failure. I’ve watched all the videos and read most of the threads but I just can’t pin point my failures so here I am to brain storm. Hopefully some other rides can connect with what I’m feeling and either find guidance or clear up somethings.
The issue:
My biggest issues is getting the front wheel up and feeling “locked” at the midpoint of the bunny hops when my hips are coming towards the bars to get that rear wheel up. The bike and I meet in the middle, pedals stiff and like I’m shifting the bike off them and it’s not the usually fluid feeling motion that comes with a “good” bunny hops. It can be seen in one of the videos provided what this looks like. My thinking is it’s a preload issue or I’m moving to far back. Can anyone that’s struggled with a similar issues give me some pointers on the feeling.
Any help would be appreciated, I’m ready to nail my hops once and for all.
