[Applause] in that race helped him ever happen to you start the day 11th up to 10th and maybe more hang on for another 4 and a half km but out of those hairpins may hurt a bit still Adam Yates looks in control of his effort proved to be the go-to final mountain domestique for Talipaga today [Music] and Travis Roglitch also looking looking pretty good in there. We’ve barely spoken about Jonas’s finger on the mountain itself and much of the conversation today was on about his his ability or what what he was planning in terms of attacks. So far nothing from Vingo. If he wants that stage win, maybe he’s going to try and do something inside the final couple of kilometers. I feel that Tagachi has not forgiven gifts just yet. No, but he can’t wait too long now. And I think um you know 4 and 1/2ks to go cannot wait uh too much longer now if he wants to try and win the stage cuz he’s going to run out of road coming out here and on his his day in yellow on the count you felt that maybe he’d resisted for a tiny bit too long and on the penultimate line measuring his efforts as Revco able to ball have done might have been the better the better option. and he had a little look over his shoulder to see what’s happening behind Holland. I think is also potentially the next man flirting with with disaster. What an impressive effort this has been from Adam Yates one by one. He’s pushing them behind. [Music] Little 10% gripper that have been detached. We’ll hope that when the gradient eases a bit as it will fancement [Applause] another kilometer under his wheels comes to the 4k to go. these uh these gantries announcing another kilometer done. There will be encouragement to time and I arr [Applause] um and that’s Patcha wearing yellow. Yes, it’s not Felix Gal. His nearest chaser on the on the hill. The rate of capture you don’t feel is just enough for Pugal to get to him. But Danny Pagato waiting to pull the trigger behind. Vocalan has lead about 13 seconds or so. 14. But that’s if Picacho does. He might not. He might just sit there and make sure that he’s making a best of the rest. But with 2 minutes and 15 216, Gal not closing it down. The only person that can catch him in the last four kilometers here is is Pagatcha. And if he’s not if he’s not launching now and his grenaders looking likely that to get their first stage win of the tour be a big moment. Great boost morale for the squad coming down 147 now. So a little bit of a gain there for for Gal and he’s now got the bans of half a minute on the chase group behind trying to close down a minute and Uh 7 seconds to Tobias Holland. Holland is just about grimly hanging on by his fingernails in that group. He’s still there and Healey’s back. So gradient has eased here slightly and that’s I think allowed those riders back in. Yeah, the fact that Pagasho hasn’t gone is is now looking a little bit more likely that um Arensman’s going to take this victory today because if he’ launched further down this climb maybe be five to go I think Pagatcha could have made a difference but for the moment anyway um it could be um jubilation for any grenaders Gal will he manage to continue the rapid progress that he’s making is it I don’t know if that’s familiar style Well, elbows out, knees out, but metronomic progress on the mountain. 8% to grip again. And Australian rider starts to feel the effect. Four to go for the for the jersey group. So, you know that leader out front is 600 m ahead. And here it comes. That’s the attack. We’ve been waiting all day. Indeed, we’ve been waiting two weeks for it. Jonas Viger goes. Immediate response from Riovitz and of course from Tan Pugacha behind Oscar Rley looks to respond. Looks over his shoulder. Primus Rogich not interested. Tobias Holland not interested. Ben Healey’s happy enough to be with those and so this is Yonas Finger thinning it out but he’s got the headache that Ted Pagatcher is there. This is bad news I think for Tim and Arensman as Lipovitz is now distanced and Oscar only finds himself in no man’s land but he’ll he’ll chase and Harry to try and get on terms of limit. Yeah, Pikachu looks relaxed. Body language says he is relaxed but the fact is it came too late on the climb. Finger waiting until what 3 and 1 half km to go. It’s looking a little bit more likely because you know Pagata never went over the top. He never accelerated. So looking a lot better for Arisman now. Only finds himself in a lonely solo chase of Florian Lipovitz. Desperately wants to stay on terms in the battle for the young jersey, the young rider competition, which are top three of general classification or the top three from the favorites group at the moment. Lipitz just attached. Will he be able to make his way back on? Vingo continues to tap out of rhythm and Tagata’s just going to follow him. That’s all he has to do. He doesn’t have to do it. That’s what I’m saying. He doesn’t have to do it, but your next team have done a lot of work and there’s no better way than than winning the stage to um just say thank you. Um but for the moment anyway, Pagatcha is just quite happy to follow. Lipates comes up to them. Nice to see that Bingard actually went on the attack, but I don’t think Pagacha um was under any trouble whatsoever. But I do think that um the fact it’s Pagatcha hasn’t done anything um with 148 2 1/2 km to go it’s looking a lot better for um now to pull this one off. Road out to half a minute. I think they’re moving moving the bikes around on the roof rack of the Rebel Bora Hansro car after this one. Lipovitz clearly establishing himself in the mountain road racing as the as the the premier force for the rebel born squad is about to be dragged back. Here comes Bob. Bob’s gone for it. The yellow jersey attacks and he’s decided enough is enough. Is that all you got? And now he’s bid for a third successive stage victory. 2 and 12 km remaining in the gap to the front of the race. Manageable perhaps 1 minute and 40 seconds. Well, Vigo has uh responded to that one. Lipovitz is further removed from their inquiries for now. At any rate, Galataki by racing solo for a little while finds himself in a position for fine stage results. A decent result. No way he can respond to that. Vingo goes again. They’re hitting each other one for one. Two and a bit kilometers remaining. It’s still 138 coming down quickly. Crowds merge in front of the riders and then the sea parts. Look over his shoulder. A little bit frustrated as if to say uh he’s still here. I know this a steep bit still to come. Um but with one and a half minutes 2 km to go I think Adamsman has got this one and it’s you know it’s down to him. It all hinged on UE team Emirates and they set a strong tempo but not a a a scintillating tempo but I think Pagata just happy to follow Vigle 10% section with 900 meters to go that won’t um won’t be much appreciated by your leader at front has drawn the yellow jersey clear Leap of being distance so I suppose uh in some measure [Applause] is at least protecting his second place overall only his further falling further in a rears but he’ll many things are going become the move up to fourth place on general classification that’s would appear to be the the likely outcome of this lot of maths to be done between now and the top of the hill and after it’s an ambiance as Jonas Vingo continues to lead the yellow busy into the final mile of racing for the man up front who’s surely done enough at this point. Yeah, they’re not closing at all. One and a half and the way they’re riding at the moment, he he made a little bit of an effort there. He’s leaving it all up to to Finger Vingard now. So, I think’s got his stage and um Lipovich looks good. He’s just been distanced there um by um Pagatcha and and Vingard. But um Oscar Onley, well, if he gets up to fourth, which I think he will now, he’ll be matching what Robert Miller did away back in the in the 80s, uh which still remains today the the best ever placing of a a Scott in the in the France of fourth place. Huge moments for for him and for Scotland. Super has been uh has been friendly to Scottish as Oscar only continues to chase. He’s had 20 seconds now to Leapovitz. Leap of racing solo so maybe he might be able to get back on [Applause] the final kilometer for your leader out front as he races into the mist at the top of Lucial Super Bair. It’s the super because it’s above Banier. It’s pretty super if you’re an iron swimman as well. Thousand meters remaining. An advantage of a minute and a half. Surely he’s going to be enough and he can enjoy this moment and start to soak it up. Still needs to continue to push all the way to the top of the climb here. They’ll be keeping him pretty motivated from the team car behind. He’ll stay in his rhythm, but what an investment he has made and what a a beautifully judged effort joining the group of favorites, electing not to go with Lenny Martin as uh as he launched on the on the tour and then joining the group of uh of Raiders, I should say, not the group of favorites, but he then of course fine performance on the Aspen and particularly on the pay resort as well. slowly but surely and that he was the the man out front and he’s heading towards a major success in his career. The second grand tour success got a stage victory in the Baltpa from 2022. Two second place finishes in Juralia as well second from tour to France as well earlier on this year stage 10. And he’s going to go one better. Down to the final 700 meters for your stage leader. A little too late for these riders. And I wonder whether today Pagato will actually outsprint uh will elect to try and out sprint Yonas Finger Go. I think he I think he has to. Even the bonuses on he doesn’t want to give any any hope to finger guard at all. Uh they’re better rivals. They got on off the bike. um very respectful of each other, but the the the difference today is Pagatcha maybe thought it was too much, but he seems to just want to kind of follow for the moment. He put in one attack, but that was it. Pagatcha of old maybe tried to go again, but I think what he’s waiting for is just to to pounce, take the 6second bonus. Great performance by Felix G. He’s staying with Florian Leaperitz who’s got that 33 odd seconds 31 33 something that kind of difference between himself and Oscar only nonetheless is potentially moving up to fourth overall. Much maths to be done as I said but no doubt about the man who’ll be in yellow at the end of today. It’s Tagger tracking his nearest rival. It’s been almost routine for the UAT Emirates squads. They had the the lead of the favorites group. There are plenty of riders available to set a steady tempo to thin out this group and ultimately finger goes attack and attacks plural indeed. Maybe a little bit too little too late. The Mlesia reinforces his position as the second breast rider and by some considerable margin in tour to France 2025 [Applause] grips a bit at this point in that final kilometer up to 10% and Gal there to assist Leapovitz in his efforts to open himself away from Oscar only proud moment for the Dutchman. [Applause] Well, it’s just the second victory of the season for Ton Arensman, but this is miles better than the the last one. This is a first stage victory in tour to France for Inas Grenaders this year and for Tomsman in his career. It’s a huge moment. He takes the glory. He takes victory on stage 14 of Tour to France. Lucan Super falls to time and arancement of any grrenaders. Now the battle for the minor positions six and four bonus seconds on offer here. So, as you say, no no gifts likely from Tadip Pagacha for Yonas Vingo who’s waiting for the inevitable attack and chases from behind potentially going to get on terms. Not that that will be of any great concern to either of them. And we pick the lad through the mist on the finish line cameras and Taga out of the saddle waiting lurking. Ringo tracking the barriers making go one side. He goes to the lights and is there going to be any contest here? The other jersey. Can Yonas finger get on terms? Well, I think it’s pretty unlikely really. And he gives up the ghost there. Inevitable. So leaving a little bit of a gap between them on the line. It’s second place on the line. So no hat-tick for Tally Pagacha, but a routine defense of his yellow jersey and an enhanced advantage on general classification to boot as Felix Gal powers up the finishing straight to take a fine fourth place on the stage ahead of Florian Lipovitz who’s emptying the tank to put as much daylight as he possibly can between himself and Oscar only. We wait for the arrival of the Scottish rider from Kelsa and only is in a world of hurt. It’s a really painful end to a really successful day in many ways. Will be just on about 2 minutes down on the stage winner. Oscar only a signal. He is a true grand tour contender and moving up we believe towards fourth place in general classification as Oscar only completes just a bit more time to Marian Leovitz and congratulations from to the stage winner plays into guys sorry together more uh more fatigue than the second place man. He he looked in control there, didn’t he? Pagatcha just can quite happy to follow for Oscar on it’s all about putting time into everybody else including Rogich but um another top eight today from Ben Healey moves himself well inside to talk to Halen behind him and pretty much Roglitch riding in alongside him. So Ben Healey moving up into the top 10. It’s been a great tour of France for him. Been a great day out for Tobias Halen Johansson. He’s lost a little bit of time here, but he’s gained a lot of friends. He’ll be in the top 10 after that one. Vocal too has fought manfully, but a really, really challenging day. You get a lot of support across the finish line. Carlos Rodriguez had to reach the top 10 for him, but he can celebrate. Glory for the Grenadier squad. [Applause] The others will be escorted to a place where they can start to recover and reflect for Tim and Arensman. A big moment for that team actually really needed something. Huge huge it that stage all hinged on UE team. It’s the way they riding today was for the stage and you know you heard Pagacha afterwards congratulating him. you said, you know, really tough effort, you know what I mean? So, it take nothing away from Ironman. He he he held them up. I didn’t think I thought he Yeah. Yeah. I think he’d be, you know, with Pagatric, but the longer they left it and they left it and they left it and then Pagata was just quite content in the end. Um he doesn’t have to take the stage. He doesn’t have to take more. He’s just has to to not lose any any time. He’s in protect mode. He he looked to be a little bit in protect mode there towards the end which which meant the irrman was fine. But this is what I was saying early on in the stage with Lenny Martinez. My teen on the stage.
