In this video, we will show you everything you need to know to visit the Palace of Versail. So, best time to go, best time in the year, but also our favorite rooms, and also a little bit of history about it. So, keep watching. Hello from the beautiful Palace of Aai. My name is Clara. I’m Lola. We are guides at boutique tours and we’re also licensed guides or g conference in French which means we’ve studied for many years to be able to show you accurately these amazing historic places and talking about the amazing history and stories that walk through these places. So why is the palace of Versailles such an iconic place? So the palace of Assa was built by an eagle king called Lud the 14th also known as the sun king. And also look at this place. All the gold. It’s massive. There’s 2,300 rooms. It is the grandest of the grandest. And talking about the gold, they say there’s literally 100 kilos of gold leaf that has been applied everywhere in this place from the gates that are right behind us to the roof as well all the way to the insides on the doors, the walls. I mean, it’s everywhere. Definitely the palace of air was a place to show off to intimidate to impress the court and also the foreign ambassadors that were invited in France. The whole palace of Versail the thing is it’s a public monument now. So we don’t have any more kings or queens but it’s still used for official diplomatic visits to this day with that same intention of showing off kind of the might and power of France. The palace was built when France was at the peak of its glory. So it is a symbol of that and it cost a fortune to build as well. They used about 60% of France’s annual income at times to build the palace and this is dating back in the late 17th century. We estimate today about so between 200 to 300 billion US dollars to build the palace of Versailles. So that is quite a legacy that it’s left for us. So Lola, what is Verimus famous for? So I would say two things. First of all, the iconic hall of mirrors u with these amazing French mirrors. They were super rare and difficult to make and there’s 357 of them in that room. And then the second thing is the fountains which I love. The fountains run in the summer at very specific times, but if you really go at the right time and plan your visits, you can really enjoy the best of Versailles. So, it’s from April through October that the fountains run on Saturdays and Sundays only. And then also in June, July, you can see them on Tuesdays exceptionally. Vasa is also famous for its park. It is huge, but I think still underestimated. You can actually go in for free and then have a lovely picnic with the view on the canal and the view on the palace. I highly recommend doing this. And we’re partial to bikes, but it is a massive park, 2,000 acres big, so we do recommend grabbing a bike in order to enjoy the park at its best. Hi, sorry to interrupt your video. Are you interested in joining us on tour? We have tours in Paris, Versailles, and Gidal. Check out the links below. We have amazing local tour guides and we’re toprated on all major platforms. So come join us on tour. See you there. So as you can see this is totally empty on this sunny November morning. So Claraara, what is the best time of the year then to visit Versail? So I would say in the spring is really nice. There’s less crowds, beautiful weather. The fountains start running as well. During autumn you have beautiful foliage, less people as well. And you see sometimes the sun is shining in November. The only thing you have to be careful about is European kids get two weeks vacation. Oh yeah. Be careful of this. Exactly. In the fall and in the spring. So around Halloween they get two weeks and around Easter they get two weeks. So the palace can sometimes get very busy with local families visiting during this vacation. If you come in the summer, I would recommend May, June, because you have the fountains going on and it is still less busy at the summer, July and August. If you don’t want to get caught up in the crowd zone, uh, no matter the time of year, I think the best days for me in the week to go is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Weekends tend to be busy. Tuesdays are also very busy because the Louv in Paris is closed. So people flock to Versailles. And also best time in the day I would recommend first entry at 9 when the shutter just opens or the last entry around 4:30 5:00 is the best of the best. They literally close the doors of the palace behind you so you’ll get empty rooms. And we have a few more top tips for preparing your visit to Versailles. The first one would be to book your tickets in advance. The tickets are electronic. They can just be on your phone and then hassle-free. Second tip also, if you want to see the Hall of Mirrors empty, it will be in the middle of the tour of the palace. So just rush through the first rooms and then you’ll be the first in the Hall of Fs. And then our third tip to not hesitate to explore other parts of Versailles other than the palace. There’s this whole gorgeous town that the palace is situated in. There’s an amazing market you can go see. There’s the old town of Versailles, the park at the back where you can bike around. It’s gorgeous. Check out our videos on what else to do around the Palace of Versailles. And if you would like us to show you around, we’ve left a link in the description if you would like to book a tour with us. And don’t hesitate to leave all of your questions in the comments. And remember to subscribe. That was our guide to Versail. Hope it was useful. And
