Hey everyone and welcome back to another video
from Norway. In this one, I want to show you our first day in Oslo and we started the day by
visiting the beautiful Oslo Cathedral. As you can see, here is a video around it and then we entered
and it was so, so beautiful from the inside. Here you can see the paintings that we were admiring on
the ceiling and I fully recommend you to come here if you’re around because the entrance is obviously
free and you can just sit and relax and enjoy its beauty. Afterwards, we explored the city by foot,
we never took public transport except for our hotel which was far away and you could see that
there was a really nice biking lane over there. I’m not sure if it’s like this all around the
city, but as a cyclist myself, I really enjoyed seeing that. And then our next stop was the Oslo
Opera House. I did not film it specifically, I just filmed the view that was around and there
were a lot of seagulls. You can see that there was a child even trying to feed one, but the view
from here was really, really beautiful. You can see that we did not have a great weather, but at
least it did not rain. The next stop and this is also the place where we spent most of the time is
called Akershus Fortress. We did not get inside, I think it was closed when we went because from
Monday to Saturday it’s open from 10:00 until 4:00 PM and during Sunday it’s open from 12:00 I
think, until 4:00 PM, so make sure you check that in advance. The entrance is around 12 or 13 euros
and from what I’ve read, it’s really worth it, but unfortunately, we did not get to enter
but there is so much to explore around the fortress. You also get to see a lot of beautiful
viewpoints of the city from here and it was not really crowded at all, so that was really, really
nice. You can see that we got to walk all around the fortress walls and everything was empty and
free of charge, but at some point we saw that red sign saying that this is a military area and
you are not allowed to enter, which was pretty interesting, but obviously, we left that alone
and we just continued walking until we reached a part after these walls where you can see a
beautiful view of the city and look at that. You could see that it was getting a little bit
dark outside. I think this was during sunset time, but because it was this cloudy, we did not see
any sunset. But anyways, if you’re enjoying this video, please don’t forget to like it and
also subscribe. I would really appreciate that and also my previous videos were from Trolltunga,
from Bergen, from Geiranger and so much more. So if you’re interested also in that, make sure you
check my full Norway playlist. But anyways, back to our video. As I’ve already told you, we spent
a lot of time here, so make sure you have at least one or two hours to put aside for this fortress.
It’s really pretty big, even on the grounds, even if you don’t enter the fortress, but after
that, we just went to search for a place where to eat because we were super hungry. We ate some
of the best burgers I’ve eaten in my entire life, I will leave that on the screen. I did not take
a photo, but they were also pretty affordable for Norwegian standards and they were in this
neighborhood called Tjuvholmen, if I’m not wrong, and honestly, I loved this part of Oslo because
it was really beautiful and we went to this open space culture park. We could see two huge
spheres here and some more sculptures that I did not film and even here we were seeing
a beautiful view of the fjord. After that, we continued walking in this area and we saw the
Oslo tree. This is how it’s called on Google Maps. I was really curious what this place is. I mean, I
was thinking why would people add a tree on Google Maps that has hundreds of good reviews and I was
impressed to see the beauty of it. Look at it, it was so huge and during the night, it’s a
really a beautiful show. It felt like Christmas, but it was actually September. If you get to come
here during the evening, I would fully recommend you to do it. Anyways, thank you so much for
watching. In the next video, we will explore together the Fram Museum in Oslo. That was so, so
interesting and also if you enjoyed this video, please don’t forget to like it and also subscribe
and I will see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
