Good morning. Good morning. Greetings to another video. So, we’ve got two very fun days coming up today. We are riding from Dung Garvin to Kil Kenny. And if any of you know anything about Ireland, Kilkenny is the star of the Ring of Kerry. Like, it’s a really famous, beautiful ride. And it’s about 150k. Good to go. Yes. Ready to rock and roll. [Music] Quite ridiculous. Even how you walk makes me laugh. Like we’re about 50k in. fan a little and um just having a little snack and then we’re going to head on. But the roads this morning, they’re just really windy, pretty green, bushy roads. It’s like undulating. Nothing. No big climbs, just like just very steady. But the it’s pretty windy, but it’s it’s all good. Look at Jay over there. Just sat on a load of compost. Hi. Look at me nice seat. It’s very comfy. We miss my narr, right? It’s a funny joke this trip that J takes these pictures of me and I look terrible in all of them. And look at this. But the thing is, how does she take? She’ll take two. The one that I look like my eyes are open. She doesn’t use anywhere. The ones that I look terrible, my eyes are like closed. Yeah. Make that into a real. Put it on my Straa. put on Instagram. Oh, but we are cuz we like the name Bhulie. What was the one that sounded like Father Ted? A Bali something. Bali Dove. Bali Dove. Yeah, Larry Do’s coming. Catch my big moment. I love the names. I just like it. And then look at that beautiful house up there. To be fair, the fact that it was like weather warnings. I think I know exactly. We have been very lucky. But a little bit of drizzle this morning, but island is nothing that was worth the morning. Now we’ve been very lucky. The luck of the Irish have been with us. The Northern Irish. Happy little leprechaun. That’s it. Kio’s. No. Chill. Ko. Chill. Ko. Cho ko. Is that how you say? Yeah. Ko. Disappointing. I know. It’s It’s just not It’s not It’s not Australian, is it? Not a standard, but it costs more. It’s your own age. On the latest gossip or simply have a bit of a laugh. Basically, every day on this street, we’ve just been like so far. That’s so far the Ted. I cannot wait. We’ve got a little secret. We have said though for the next few days. We’re only going to speak Father Ted. We’re only going to speak Father Ted. And I was like, “Okay, one of us is Father Ted and one of us is Doom.” She’s like, “Well, we know who Doo’s going to be. I just love Father Ted so much. It’s so I feel like such a terrible tourist. I kind of feel like your faces are actually M and Doole.” Long story short, as we were riding through, there’s just so many like castles and the names of things. I’m like, we were saying that how I can see why so many Americans want to come here cuz it is very like mythical. This is like lots of like Yeah, I know. I was like, what is it? Leprechaun. I need a green jersey. Someone give me a green jersey. Just as you said, little leprechaun, a little man came past it all dressed in all green. Back on the Irish chat. I’m just saying though that so many like I was saying three of my favorite things like I love Dairy Girls obviously Father Ted and I love Normal People. That’s that series I watched it. I always save it. I always save it. I always watch it on the play and download it. It’s just one of the best. That’s terrible at parking that. He’s not leaving it there, is he? Hang on. He’s coming back up. He’s going to do it again. He’s determined to destroy his friends. Knock that guy down. Okay. Okay. What’s in here? Let’s have a little look. What’s in here? Some people think it’s for hydration. No. The tractors, they’re like Formula 1 cars around here. They go so fast, don’t they? Yeah. They’re like, “We own this round.” Yeah. Get off it. Get off the speed of this. Does not give a flyer. And a And this is why 100k takes us 10 hours. I need long hair. That driver in the car was laughing. Was it? You look so glamorous. Quite comfy here. He’s coming back for more. Is it? Is that the same guy? Not far to go. Living the dream. Absolutely. Around Ireland with Katy. What more could you want? That’s knee knee. Guilla. Yeah. Just let us names are fantastic. I love it. Gorilla. I love it. Only 13k left and we think I think that’s where we’re going tomorrow. Yeah. Mountains. And then honestly, today has been so pretty. We’ve just had like loads of lanes, loads of green, loads of like really steady, gentle just like up and down, up and down. It’s been nice. It’s been lovely. And you know what? The weather is so lucky. We’ve had a little bit of a sprinkle of rain, but mainly a little dry. a lot of FL. But yeah, we’ve got like yeah 13k down to Khani. Be a lovely little adventure for us. [Music] [Music] Stopped at a shop to uh to get some snacks. We’re almost we are in Kani. Oh, actually that’s where we’re staying. Literally next door. Look what Jay’s bought. Lucky lucky. Who’s a leprechaun? Have £200 a night hotel. Let’s see what the deal is. 26. Oh my. Oh, they need to update their website. This is really nice. I’m actually going to I think break a cold you know this outfit. Bite packing essentials. Oh baby, look at the jacket. She’s not even on a Bailey. You can’t pull that on. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] Baby, look at it over the road. Oh my god, that was so fast. It’s not even over anything. It’s just literally over the road. Good morning. Good morning. Today we’ve got what have we got, Ja? We’ve got the ring of Gary. So, I was asking you, why is it so famous? I don’t know. It’s really beautiful. Really, really beautiful. Uh Mark is probably my friend Mark is joining us today. He’s probably a better person to ask why it’s so We’ll grab him on the ride, but I think it’s just cuz it’s really beautiful. It looks a beautiful little peninsula of just coastline. Yeah, we’ve got mountains, we’ve got coast, we’ve got cafes. It’s like a proper big tourist attraction. Kani National Park. And I don’t want to jinx this too early, but the weather is looking Sorry, I’m just trying on my camera. Just saying the um I don’t want to speak too soon, but the weather I think it’s looking pretty good. A little bit. It’s windy again, but do you know what? I’m happy if we get our fourth day of island and no rain. We are some jammy little jammy little gits is very like locks and rocks. Locks and rocks. Oh, beautiful little castle. Wow, this is unbelievable. This route only about what 5k 10k in. Look at this view. But there’s midgetes. Sorry, don’t know. Look at this. Oh, beautiful. But the midgetes are I can feel them all over me. It’s so I don’t know varied and different. And it’s like winding. There’s like rocks and then mountains and lakes and midgetes. There’s J. I think it feels a bit like bit like Scotland. And then obviously with the midgetes definitely Scotland. And it’s so different to anything we’ve seen already. And it’s so quiet. Beautiful. [Music] My trip has been made because there’s a sheep sat on a rock. Like I love it. Look at that little sheep. Hi matey. I like you. [Music] Mark just open up in that driveway fridge. Come on. Let’s have you read the book right now over the fridge. Bloody bridge. I’m going to get smoke. This place is unbelievably good. Like this right now. Why ride a bike? I feel ter [Music] [Music] This breakfast porridge tastes so good. That’s a good porridge. So, we’ve got car treasure hunt. So, what hap what’s the premise of it? This is failless bowl. Um, and I’m going to just you get in your car, drive around and look look out for whatever. But you have to be local. You need to you need to It’s like local clues. What do you win? I don’t know. Some cheese from Dingle. No, probably a tire. A tire. A haircut. This is so Father Ted. I love it so much. No, it’s not. I swear like it could be like a haircut from Rose. Really? Anyway, so we’re just chatting about Well, actually just chatting about how much we love Father Ted. And Mark is obviously Well, you’re Irish, but you were just telling us about like the random fun things that are going on. And one of them is like a car treasure hunt where a local community they get in their car and just drive around and find local clues. The clues and then what’s the other one? There’s like a farmer’s uh there’s a race up hill a race up a hill. So a load of farmers just go a hill and I just this it makes it all click the stories that you get in father’s head. I’m like oh this is just Ireland. This is not just like comedy. This is I is there a video? Best community in Ireland. I love it. They are with they’ve got courts. Oh yeah yeah yeah. It’s a It’s a big thing. Um, but the best community in Ireland without a doubt. Oh, getting flashbacks of all the little clips of Fend. I’m just like have to We have to watch the fair one. Yeah. Watch that tonight. Yeah. I love it. I just love Ireland. I am loving like and you’ll be passing by Lisb. There could be even something on when you’re there. We’ll be getting in there. Like tell me that’s not Father Ted. What is it? That’s like uh they’re playing music in a little in a parade. Someone’s dressed up as the boat. Oh, the idea. And it’s not like cuz I don’t It’s not like I’m like taking the bit. I just think it’s like a It’s such a cute hum cuz it’s so innocent. Yeah. Like that’s why I love it that it’s so just so sweet and lovely. They’re just brilliant. No, I don’t. But you’ve got all this like crime and horrible stuff in the news and you’ve got like lovely communities of people doing things like that that I just think just for the fun of it. But even the turnout, I really want to buy this. What would I ever do with it though? But look how cute that is. [Music] I just love all the colors. Oh, so Oh, look at the little car. So tasty. Oh, so Oh, aren’t you gorgeous? Gorgeous. Crops as well. I do. Yeah. What crops do you do? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good. Good man. Been a farmer all your life. Farmer all my life. Yeah. My dad’s a farmer, too. Anything wrong with [Music] [Music] I knew this ride today would be good. This is far exceeded my expectations. is so beautiful and like the branding and the marketing for Wild Atlantic Way is just so good. You know, the other thing that I think is really really amazing about it, the climbs are so gradual and steady. Anyone could ride this, anybody. Because I was thinking like compared to I know it’s a lot shorter like North Coast 500 that’s got some really steep sections in it whereas this is all really really gradual. Like anyone could come and do it. Come and ride this cuz it’s beautiful. [Music] Hi sheepy. Mark the camera is on. [Music] My nose is sore. My hair is wild. But we have completed a ring of Kerry. It was like 172k. It’s very beautiful. And we had no rain. How do you feel that we had no rain? Let’s get food. Thought it was absolutely fantastic. I loved it. The scenery is amazing. I tell you what, I really loved the flowers by the side of the road. All the wild flowers. There were so many wild flowers and all the colors. I think it’s it’s so stunning. Um, and lots of variety, but at the same time, same same, if that makes sense. Like, it does change as you go around. Um, and great company. I mean, what more? I mean, Katie, you got to hang out with me. What more do you want? And stuff. It was great. Yeah. Well done. So, yeah, I would say come and do it. It’s very easy. It’s accessible, but prepared to pay for lots of pennies in Colani. It’s spenny, spenny, spenny. I actually think it’s kind of like when people go to the Doomite for the Oh my gosh, what’s that route called? Altered. No, Scalio. And no, what’s it called? My brain is ready for food. I can’t remember what it’s called. But basically, when people go for like the loop around the Dolommites, that’s almost like similar cuz it was so picturesque and mountainous and pretty. It was almost like I was saying to Mark, it almost felt a bit like Disney, almost like a bit fake because it was so beautiful. Do you know what I mean? like it’s like this beautiful trees. It’s like they just place perfectly. It was honestly phenomenal. So, we will catch up with you next video for the next two days, which hang on. Has the next two days got my favorite thing in it. No. Oh, they’re the last two. Okay, you’re going to have to wait. You got next video and then the one after that. You’re going to love it. You are. The next two days are going to be beautiful, but the last two my favorite little thing. Okay, bye bye. [Music] [Music]

  1. You could do a wk in Kerry alone Katie, unbelievable routes that could match anywhere. The craic you both have is infectious 🤣 loving these vids 🙌

  2. Looks fabulous I have to say, I'd love to do that route myself at some point in my life. Its also part of a famous car rally, the Killarney rally of the lakes part of which goes over where you were in Molls Gap.

  3. Absolutely loving these videos now living in Wiltshire past then years bringing back great memories 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️ and you do know father ted was so ahead of it’s time and still a great documentary 😂😂😂 sure anything that make you laugh must be good 👍

  4. Aaah! You missed The Gap of Dunloe! Straight out of Kilarney intially west, and then joins up to top of Molls Gap that you went over, when I say world class, I really mean it, and I live in Switzerland now 😂, I was there and did it in June. Always good to have places to go back to though! Keep up the good work 👍

  5. Katie!! 🙏 we’ve got a super vibrant cycling community in south Florida in the US! It’s very unique with all of the flat roads, huge group rides, and famous A1A rides next to the ocean (not to mention riding from Miami to Key West – one of the most unique experiences going!). You’ve got to come! Oh, but not in the summer months! lol 🥵. Love your videos and love of cycling! 🫶.

  6. Over 40 years ago I worked three summers at an outdoor center near Killarney, so I climbed and hiked most of that area and I have not been back sense. So it was great to see it again – thanks for sharing Katie.

But Jazus, I near spat out the coffee when you moved the Ring of Kerry to Kilkenny! There is a politician down there called Michael Healy-Rae who'd be very upset with you! He's the real stuff of Father Ted! Wears his flat cap in the Dail (Irish Parliament) chambers etc…

  7. I did a road trip by car a few years back with my friends around Ireland and we just loved every bit of it. The landscape is just so beautiful and astonishing and the people are just the friendliest. 😍💕
But as I watch your videos now, I think I need to do the whole thing again but by bike this time as you did. 😊😊😊
Thank you for taking us along!

  10. Sheer joy and fun between mates! What a great outing.
When I saw the fridge, the first thing I thought of was that book of the bloke’s adventures travelling around Ireland with a fridge. And then JA mentions it! Too funny.😂
And I expect to see at least one recreation of “my lovely horse” along the way. I’m sure it would have to be on a pub karaoke list somewhere!

  11. Stunning route, we were down there in July doing the charity ring of Kerry cycle but in the opposite direction. Scenery outstanding.

  12. Lucky you. West Ireland is definitely going to be our next cycle tour. Did a really good 5 day circuit round northen Ireland a few years back which was great.
