This is the Stelvio Pass. It is located in the Italian Alps directly on the Swiss border. From the north, the Umbrail, the highest Swiss pass, leads almost to the top of this impressive route. However, this side of the mountain is better known for its notorious 48 hairpin bends on this narrow road. Every self-respecting European motorcyclist must know this route. Anyone who can manage this pass without making any mistakes will also be able to ride all the other tarmac Alpine passes.

Wanted to go last year but snow in early June prevented it, all but a few passes in the alps were closed. Next try in september 2025 😊

yep it was hard with an old Suzi Bandit. I sweated blood and tears each curve.
Natürlich wurde das SJ gefahren aber was nie erwähnt wird, es gibt viel anspruchsvollere " Straßen/Kurven" in den italienischen Bergen!

I've driven there many times! But I'm still wondering: Why do MOST of the motorcyclist drive like crazy there?? Just slow down and enjoy the view!!!!
Yes, in 2005, my very first pass with a motorcycle (i had a yamaha fz6 then). In a very crowded way. And i did with my girl-friend … To impress her …. 😄 It was extremely difficult … But i made it, still do not know how …😂

Rode on the back of my late cousins 2001 R6 . I was only 12 years old and will remember it for my whole life!
Rode the Stelvio 2 times with my 1993 Moto Guzzi California backin the 1990th. First alone and the second time with sozia. Great experience.

I did this in summer 2023❤from 7.30-8.30 in the morning, nearly being alone with 48 hairpin turns! 🎉and without falling down💪🏻🏍🌻
I know many Greek roads which are tighter and more challenging. No armco to stop you going over the edge, plenty of goat surprises.
As a swiss motorcyclist I have to tell you; don't go there, it's overhyped. There are many other mountain pass roads for more fun. And don't go there on a weekend. Thank you.
I was there june 24..from south spain just to do the Stelvio… but came up from Bormio… The other side was closed due to snow. So its a good excuse to go back some day. ( Looking for sponsorship).

This looks very similar to Kolli Hills road in Tamilnadu, India. It has 70 hairpin bends.

I was there, riding a 1993 Sportsster, low with 24 cm springs. I sweated blood and tears, ruined my footrests, and threatened to hit my brother-in-law when he proclsimed "one more time, let's do it again." Awesome Road
