I would love to cycle the Eurovelo 3 route from Paris to Bordeaux (called the La Scandibérique).

Right now, my weeks off from work are the last week of september and first week of october.

Plan is to find a camping south of Paris where I can park my car (driven over from the Netherlands with my bike), cycle to Bordeaux and then the train back to Paris. Maybe spent one day in Paris sightseeing and then cycle back to the camping and drive back to the Netherlands.

I'm looking for some advice on the weather, campgrounds availability and clothing:

– What weather can I expect when cycling through the French countryside from september 22nd to october 3rd?
– I want to camp as much as possible (maybe some night or a restday at a small hotel or bed&breakfast): will the campgrounds still be open or is end of september the end of the season?
– Related to question 1: do I take full thermo clothing for nights in the tent? And full rain gear?
– Finally: any tips, tricks or experiences you have with this route, please let me know.

I'm currently watching Bike Touring Mike who did the same route, early september 2023. Lots of high temperatures still as he's struggling with it.
