Pros and cons of living in Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿
These are just my OPINIONS as an expat living here
So here we go 👇
Pros:
– It’s absolutely beautiful. The architecture and streets are stunning!
– Amazing transportation. Prague has one of the
best public transit networks in the world.
– Safety. I rarely, if ever feel unsafe in this city.
– Fun things to do. I feel like it’s hard to get bored because you can always find activities to enjoy.
– Great location in the heart of Europe. Prague’s central location makes it easy getting to so many other places across the continent.
Cons:
– Housing. Prague has one of the worst housing markets in Europe in terms of rent/buy costs compared to local salaries.
– Dark/Cold Winters. It’s cold and very dark for a lot of the year.
– Overtourism. Especially during summer and December the main areas around the city get overrun with visitors.
– The Czech language is actually ranked as one of the most difficult to learn for foreigners. BUT a lot of people in Prague do speak English which makes life easier while you’re still learning.
Do not misunderstand me though. I honestly love Prague and think it’s one of the best cities in the world ❤️
What do you think of these pros and cons?

German expat here that’s been living in Prague for 3 years. Fully agree. Great city, but in my experience speaking English is totally enough. You don’t have to be fluent in Czech in order to live here decently.
miluji Prahu ❤
I love Prague and have been living here for more than 2 years, and I don't agree with your cons (apart from the housing market, yeah it's crazy expensive both to rent and buy)
Overtourism in basically only in the center and maybe Vysehrad, we have all the other beautiful areas to ourselves. And we actually benefit that the landmarks in Prague are so centralized, so we don't have to deal with all the tourists everywhere else!
And in the 3 winters I spent here, they were actually really mild, and 3 years ago it was warm even! We almost dont get snow, and even when there is, it's so well managed that by the morning the streets and pavements are cleaned and walkable. Regarding length, I would say it depends with where you compare it with 😅
Lastly, I don't think you need czech language at all, as an expat 😅 I found that everyone speaks english, from handymen to sellers to cleaners. If you don't want to learn the language, you absolutely don't have to 😊
Yh our language is kind of hard
jmenuji se Matthew a miluji to
Santa criatura ! ❤

I am from Czech and I agree Czech langauge is super hard😅 for me
I'm from the Czech Republic and our language is not complicated, but for us Spanish is very complicated, it's just a matter of habit.
Id say czech republic in general is a safe country but prague being an overly touristic capital is really not that safe after all
U from Praga!
(Czech speak):čau borci kdo je z Prahy tak😘👇🏻
Real from czechia 😂
my mom is from slovakia, since im fluent in slovak i can speak chzech very well. i came home from a 4 day trip to prague a few hours ago, i really enjoyed it. the only flaw was overtourism, but it was fine
As Czech I agree at all but Czech is hard language hits different Czech is in 20 hardest languages in the world Even Czechs have a problem with Czech, we have the letters ˇ and ´ á, é, í, ó, ú, ý, č, ď, ě, ň, ř, š, ť, ž, ů and no one can say ř without learning it for a long time, not even Czechs😮😮
My great grandparents moved to the states from Czechia and I’m currently learning Czech to one day visit, as I only learned some words as I was growing up. Love what I see of the culture ❤
Prague is great, the only thing is that in recent years real estate has become very expensive and unaffordable.
What makes it safe? 🧕🇮🇳☪️🇳🇬
What’s up with housing? Expensive?
Czech is easy!
Is it really safe? Or just if you’re a guy😅 I am not trying to be annoying but that’s just something I am always worried about as a woman in big cities
Thanks for the suport i aculy live in czechia and i love it 🥰
Pro: all guys look like Bel Ami models (con: all guys actually work for Bel Ami) :p
Then the slovakian: it is not hard jisu Ř is.
I'm cezch and I love this
Iam coming yo! Czechiaa
Why the housing market is a con? Is it too expensive ?
Dont wanna see tourists? Go visit stuff in the soviet and rural parts of the city instead
