Hi all Finally completed my First overnighter.
Not everything went to plan.
Overestimated my own fitness especially when facing a constant cross wind.
The route proved more challenging than simple thinking everything is flat in Northern Germany.
Did not allow for hi season camping been fully booked.
Plus a few minore pannier issues and shifting issue.
Camping became glamping.
I ended up sore and tired in a Hotel away from the Seafront around 12 hrs after setting out.
After a trouble nights sleep with some cramps and foot trouble from aritus in my right toe and some knee pains.
mostly on my right leg, these are mostly from a cycling accident back in the 90's.
But I did finally sleep after applying warming cream and drinking recovery drinks during the night.
That was day 1 Sunday.

So Day two after a good hotel Breakfast,
I repacked all my bags differently breaking some bulky items up like my gas stove and Tent and sleeping mate and placing them in different bags.
I also revised the return route to avoid the more exposed open land areas taking a more direct and inland cycle route.
Plus chopping off 30 km off the distance back to Hamburg.

It also ment I would not just be traveling over the same paths in the reverse direction , some parts yes at the start but then different roads and paths almost all the way back to Hamburg until the last 20 km back along the River Elbe and the Ferry crossing to get me back home.

Overall the route was pleasant but I should have taken a closer looks at places to stop at a look around.

But this is what your learn, next time I will make it shorter and take a look at the places I missed along the route, that are mostly hidden behind the flood defences.
But I made it there and back.
Now I need to recover .
