I should okay next tip is switch your motor on uh no seriously folks a lot of the time climbing we’re not we’re not in a power stage we’re not against the clock so I think a key thing to think about is look for breaks of slope nice flat bits of the terrain which give you a breather to go again but my next point is actually all about reading the terrain and scanning so I’m coming up this flat section I’ve had a bit of a breather so I’m scanning ahead of me I can see a direct route on the left but I can see a flatter route out to the right there which enables me a smooth line to access this next part of the climb

  1. Never seen Steve climb anything super muddy and steep uphill, it requires a completely different skill set, and getting forward off the saddle means less weight cutting into the wet mud so it's much much harder to make progress.

    Not saying it's not in his wheel house he's from Wales lol, im sure hes conquered many a steep muddy slippery hill, I'd just like to see how he gets on. And if he has any tips.
