Third & fourth day of a four day adventure on the King Alfred’s Way. Small crash on day 3. But no punctures on day 4.
Total trip mileage: 237.
Ridden at the beginning of April 2025.
Daytime temperature a perfect 16 degrees centigrade.
Night time, light frosts so around -1 to -2 degrees centigrade.
Very dry trails. I adjusted the Cycling Uk route to accommodate staying at motels. The distances per day & distance off the trail were pretty good for access to motels. Salisbury was only half a mile off the route. I used Premiere Inn as they have restaurants & let you park the bike in the room. I was able to get a downstairs room on all but the first night. I could have camped. But I don’t like camping that much. Also I was carrying too much weight & a tent etc. would have broken me & the bike. Additionally I would get two good meals a day. All other snacks & meals I carried on the bike.
