If it matters, I'm 178cm and about 160lbs; I love road cycling and adore hiking and skiing, so I think I'm going to fall in love with mountain biking. Local trails near me have a pretty hardcore focus on downhill riding, but there is also some enduro/trail riding. I plan to hit jumps/drops when I can, but nothing insane so I don't think I need a ridiculous amount of travel, but still want something that is comfortable to ride long-term.

Additional info: I like carbon frames, not necessarily for weight-saving but because I think it looks cleaner and is a cool material, so if I were able to chose between alloy and carbon bike for the same price I would choose carbon.

Selection (Prices in CAD):

  1. Devinci Spartan GX (2017): This is the one I am leaning towards as it seems to fit the description of what I want most closely, and the seller is willing to take $1300CAD. I'm not in love with the colour, but it being super bright might be good if I ever take a big spill so someone can see me more easily.

  2. YL Capra AL (2018): Looks to be in good shape, alu frame which isn't a negative but I would prefer carbon as previously mentioned. Seller is willing to take $1400CAD.

  3. Seven Peaks Demon(2021?): Newest and presumably most recent geo, but I've not heard much about this brand outside of Facebook Marketplace, the components on it seem good, but almost too good to be true for me to trust it's durability. I have yet to ask the seller if they could come down on their price but I think I could expect to get it for $1300-1400CAD.

Thank you to anyone who could help me out here, I love all things bikes and would really appreciate any feedback or questions!
