With 8 and a2 million visitors expected in the first year, how exactly are people going to get to the new Universal Studios Resort near Bedford? Let’s break it down by the numbers. First up, public transport is a big deal. The developers are aiming for 30% of all guests to arrive by train, bus, or other forms of public transport. And to make that work, they’re building a brand new rail station at Wixoms, right next to the resort. Now, most of the visitors will still come by car. Around 60% are expected to drive either in private vehicles or via group coach travel. That includes family road trips, mini bus tours, and coach parties. Parking is being planned with all that in mind. And there’s still 10% left, and that is going to come from walking, cycling, or even hotel shuttles and onsort resort transit. So, yes, there’s a green element, too. The resort’s travel plan is aiming to keep traffic flowing and emissions low. With rail links, shuttle buses, and lots of coordination with Bedford’s road network, they want to make getting there part of the fun. So, what do you think? Let me know in the comments.
