Ok so I’ve had this 27.5 x 2.8(? The tires are hard to read and need replacing) Iron Horse bike for about 4/5 years now. Originally got it for $300 new and it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned. Thing is I wanna get into bike packing and slowly start upgrading this thing. Right off the bat Ik it needs new tires (they’re startin to dry rot), new sprockets, new chain, and a new shifter mechanism. I’d also like to add better and multiple racks (the one on the back usually holds a milk crate but it broke since I use it to haul trash), a bigger seat, and some sort of cover if at all possible. I’ve jerry rigged umbrellas to my bike before but somethin more permanent would be nice. I’m just curious what y’all think of usin this bike since I can’t really afford a new one and even if I could I’d really like to make this one work if at all possible.
