Just coming here for a few words of encouragement 🥲 I have done all of this before but it was 10 years ago. I know I can still do this, but what if? One thing that has definitely happened to me in the span of 10 years is the art of anxiety and overthinking. 😅
Last photo is from my crazy trip from Asia to Europe in 2015 with zero prior experience.

This looks like an epic route.
If you did Asia to Europe this is going to be a cakewalk.
Have an amazing time.
you’ll be good, don’t worry!
I’m due to leave on Tuesday to go to Spain from the UK and feel the same — mostly wondering what if I can’t do it or what if I get lonely. But I keep telling myself: if I don’t like it, I can just cut the trip short and come back by train or plane. If things go wrong, I’ll just accept it and deal with it as best I can. It’s completely normal to feel a bit anxious.
Looks awesome! I always get nervous before a trip too, it’s normal. Just need to start regardless, and as you get cycling and stuck in, I’m sure it will gradually fade away. And if you do encounter any problems, you will be able to solve them as you go. You’ve got this!
You got this!!
Your bike looks great – you’ve clearly prepped and prepared well, and once the wheels and pedals start turning, you’ll be back in the groove! Have a great ride – I’m jealous!!
You’ve got this. You’ve done it before and you can do it again. I’m in the same boat but have more time to let the overthinking set in before leaving in 3 weeks. Enjoy!
You’ve got this. I wish I had the time for something like that. Live in the moment 💪
Don’t overthink it! All you have to do is eat, sleep and keep pedalling forward. Have so much fun! I’m super jealous
I always get a few jitters shortly before leaving.
And truth be told, even if something goes wrong (and it certainly happens) then I’m usually way too focused on solving the problem instead of feeling anxious about it. It helps free the mind and opens you up to new possibilities.
And you get the awesome feeling when you do fix it.
Traveling through Northern Europe, you should be more than fine. At worst you’ll be a walk to a train station away from being back home in 24 hours.
Go and have fun. 😉
You got this enjoy the ride!
This will be great. I did a similar route but on to Prague via Krakow, albeit 10 years ago, but I am sure you have an amazing time. The roads are good, drivers mostly respectful. Friendly people. Language barrier likely better than when I did it all in all but pretty manageable in any case.
Jealous, tbh!
Ha. I get antsy before every tour & I’ve been touring for over 45 years. Dont stress it & enjoy the trip.
After 2 days it starts to feel at home again, anything you miss you can get on the way. Enjoy, looks great!
What Bombtrack Bike is this? I am about to buy the Hook 2 or Hook Ext for my first big cycle Journey. What do you think about your Model?
