I’ve already told you that I’m still a bit traumatized by the Transuro Trail in Romania. Riding on gravel and mud is one thing, but doing it right next to a 300m drop is quite another. To get back into the swing of things after off-road riding, I rode the Transero Trail from Lübeck to Poland with my friend Niklas last year. That was in November and was a fantastic way to end the season. And if you’re supposed to pick up where you left off, I’ll be meeting Niklas again on the first nice weekend in March. This time we want to ride the Trensir Trail from Hamburg west to the Netherlands . My plan is to include an off-road section near Zelle on the way to Hamburg. Then take the motorway to Hamburg and from the following day through the Altes Land to Wisschafen and from there into the Ted all the way to the Netherlands, as far as we can go or feel like it. It’s freezing cold outside; it only feels like 4°C or so. I’m putting on everything I’ve got and then I want to drive across the country near Zelle and then onto the A7 towards Hamburg. Z is recommended, by the way. Very nice little old town. So, I think this must be it, what my friend sent me. At least you’re allowed to drive in here. Well, at least there’s no sign saying you’re not allowed to drive in here. It’s a military zone everywhere. You shouldn’t make a wrong turn. [ __ ] m He didn’t mention the sand though. At least everything is dry and the end is in sight. [ __ ] me. I’m still pretty rusty after the winter and the sand has always been a problem. I’m not supposed to suspect it yet, but the real sandbox is still to come. Oh, good. Tanks this way. That’s definitely reassuring. I imagined it to be more relaxed. It was really cool up to here. You turn right here and part of the way to the left is a restricted military zone, but you’re allowed to drive straight ahead. Then there are signs. Yes, watch out, tanks or tanks this way. Then at some point there will be another pony farm, or at least a horse farm, or somewhere where there are horses. But it’s not that far away from here anyway. So it can’t be that far down now. The good thing is that I don’t have to worry about a tank coming towards me. Well, at least not if the sign is on the other side of this street, but I’m just assuming it is. Yes, now I have to hurry a bit so I don’t get to Hamburg super late. Go ahead. I’m the sponsor of today’s video. At bennancemotours.com you’ll find my packing list, GPX files, picture books, and of course the usual merch. And if you want to see the videos before everyone else , just become a member of the channel. I sometimes produce my videos weeks in advance, and with a channel membership you’ll always get the videos straight away. We’re ready, let’s see. Unfortunately it rained again last night. The question is how much mud awaits us, but we’ll see. Now we’re going through the old country to Wischhafen and then we’re heading towards Holland. Viertaschen looks a bit like a mule, doesn’t it? My God, it’s almost stately, isn’t it? There are still orchards here. Fruit, fruit, fruit. Probably 90% apples, maybe a few pears. Probably cherries too. You just coast along here at 50. The wind from the Elwe really whistles through every crack and it doesn’t really get any warmer. There’s a bit of a place here too. There’s something to look at. Beautiful houses, big orchards, a bit of water, but here we only drive 50 30 50 30. Wow, it’s just a bit too winding for it to be that exciting. But it looks like it’s no longer in use. Yes, since the beautiful ferry across the Oste was closed for the winter, it was quite a challenge to get back to the trail. It’s definitely getting more fragmented here. Should we have lunch on the concrete blocks? It’s quite comfortable to sit in, and for once it’s sheltered from the wind. To save money this time, we’ve decided to only cook our own food. Instant noodles bring back memories of our student days. Oh well, at 8°C it doesn’t do any harm, as I said. And then I always made myself two packs of those smaller Jumum things. You get about the same amount out of them. Two eggs to add. The Trin Euro Trail up to here has been quite small, but there are very few unpaved roads. That’s changing now. Swim , swim, swim. Yes. Sand fields are nasty, right? But you can, you don’t have to raise a wolf here, right? You can just watch and wait. We can do it together. Yes, it worked. Did you do something? No, just flew over, but it’s all good. Well, it’s really fun to drive here, but the wind is whistling in your face. It’s freezing cold. And there are always these thick sand fields. I don’t know if you can see it, but it’s really like that, you come shooting down there or not, but you’re driving on such a great gravel road, mega, everything is great, you feel totally safe and then it goes down so easily and suddenly there’s really deep sand here. It’s really scary when the front wheel doesn’t hold its line so well anymore. So, let’s pull on Prince Iron again and drive on. Traction control on and F. Should I press it? Root. My God, we already drove into here a little while ago. Table, oh, there’s a nice bridge above you, Lune. I can do it like that. In any case, it’s slipping a bit here. and in the ditch, then you can just stop right away. Then you do n’t need to call the roadworks anymore if you’re stuck in the ditch. Then all you can do is go to the nearest farmer and ask if he has a forklift or if a tractor can pull a piece of metal out for you. My God, this must have been a peat bog landscape for them to need such massive drainage ditches everywhere. From Bremerhaven onwards we’re almost only on asphalt again. But at least we find a proper biker hotel on Booking.com. It’s still so far away that we don’t arrive until well after sunset, but since the route is no longer on gravel here, we’re glad we can still make good progress. Something just occurred to me: biker hotel. Of course, that could just mean cyclists. That’s much more likely than bikers meaning motorcyclists, because what motorcyclist would even come to this region? Unless you ‘re really that stupid and just ride that trendy Euro Trail from Holland. Well, nobody does that and even when you know that it ‘s not really that exciting here, it gets interesting to see whether this is a biker hotel in the sense of a cyclist’s hotel or whether it’s a biker hotel in the sense of a biker hotel. We were just whispering that it wasn’t a biker hotel but a bicycle biker hotel, because who wants to be a biker hotel in this region, but it’s become clear. We’re in a biker hotel, but from the looks of it, we’re the only guests. For dinner there’s YouTube and good stuff from Aldi. But actually, it’s very rare that YouTube actually spits out something for me that I find interesting, and the last time I saw something was some kind of post by Leis with gadgets, where they reported that there are now LED retrofits for H4. Good morning, Gett. Yes, night. Night was okay, but I still can’t really get out of the funk today. The weather is tempting, with bright sunshine at 3°C, but it’s getting warmer. Yeah, let’s go, shall we? So, bye. Family bikers, Hotel zur Schze. The Treniro Trail isn’t really a trail here, but it’s extremely beautiful. Ah, beautiful. Get lost. Pigeon. Away. A dreamy little bridge here. The weather is great, the route is beautiful, but all the roads here are paved. That changes right over the border in the Netherlands. Half a Nature Valley in Franschhoek and on. Yes, so small. They’re always in pairs, as if you’re always meant to eat alone. So, bye. Trero Trail. Germany. Hello Triniro Trail Holland Netherlands and so little Trin Trail, so little trail now at the end in Germany. It’s so beautiful, we’re getting back on here in Holland, the Netherlands. Sand is always less fun than I think. It’s nice that we’re about to get sand again, isn’t it? Great. Theoretically you could probably blast through it really hard, because it’s so solid underneath, but I don’t dare go that brutally. Yes. Yes. Yes. A river on the left, a canal on the right. Well, I mean you won’t be able to fall down the canal like that. There are enough trees in between, but somehow you think there’s enough space here. You think to yourself that this is more predictable. That’s really fun. So, now we’re basically turning around and just going back along the canal on the other side. Ah, to the Aldi. There was a video too, but well, what was actually said about it? When it’s full, when you’re really at the top, it takes a minute 35 until all the water boils. Hmm. And that’s just, well, it’s mega. Mm. I don’t know if we’ll get a fresh one sometime, but Aldi definitely had puff pastry with frander. Frander. What great weather is this? I must say, the weather obviously makes a big difference now, but ah. I’m really impressed by the Netherlands here. Oh, the easy way out or something? But the way the route has been developed is really nice. There are benches everywhere. You could take a break anywhere here. It’s pretty cool that you’re allowed to ride here. But no one says hello here. He’s smiling. Nobody has that ” You’re not allowed to ride here for long.” What? They’re happy. That’s just how it is. If someone had told me in 2019, when I got my motorcycle license and bought this motorcycle, yes, one day you’ll also ride through the Dutch lowlands and that it will be really cool and you want to enjoy it. Uh, I said, so, so stupid. What sunshine. It’s firm enough again that I dare ride. If you’re fed up after the sand ride, we can ask at the golfer’s hotel if they still have a room. That was exhausting, huh? We can make real friends. Yes, exactly. Let’s go. Yes , a better bike here is good. Yes, let’s try here, but it’ll be fine. Yes, better is difficult. Difficult, much too difficult. That’s fine too. You have to dance a little. Yes, nice. Great. Have fun. Have fun. Ah. So, on to the last section for today. We’ll drive all the way to the main road and then head straight to the hotel. Believe it or not, Deson was the cheapest hotel you could find here. We arrived, checked in, and even had a small balcony; I have to say, the hotel is a bit of a Blendau here. The rooms are all top-notch, newly modernized. In the hallway you’d think you’d stepped back in time somewhere in the 80s, but it’s quite nice and you don’t know anything. We paid the same in Germany yesterday, and the quality here was three notches better, or four even. So, it’s perfectly fine. Now for a small beer. Then it’s off to the shower. Yes, and then we’ll carry on shooting tomorrow. Bye. Plan to drink more water, but yes. Yes, a little of what was frozen over this morning. The hoarfrost still lay a frozen film over the meadows. We’re going to have really, really great weather for driving again today. Today there is definitely a lot more going on. So, we already have four, five, six Saw people here who were also on the TED. On the Ted. The Ted. Ah. Cool. Well, that was really good. I think that’s really, really cool. It’s always much more fun than if you’re constantly worried that you’re going to fall on your face. As long as the ground isn’t too rough, it’s just so much fun. It’s so cool. Always think about the 60 km/h zone. If you were fast enough here, you’d just fly over it, but ah, the beautiful gravel forest paths seem to be over again. Once again, with harder and looser sand. The weather is great, the riding is fun, and we’re going much faster than we expected. But that also means the way back is getting longer and longer, and the weather forecast for the day of the return trip is predicting sleet. On top of that , the sand is sapping our energy, and we’re pretty exhausted. While we’re having lunch on the ground in front of the supermarket, we decide to call it a day. From here, we can still make it to Wolfsburg quite easily before the sun sets and it gets cold again. I never would have expected that the Netherlands would be so much fun off-road. Lovely people, beautiful scenery, and lots of sand— you have to be aware of that. In retrospect, we probably should have just let some air out of the tires . Maybe then it would have been easier. Either way, it doesn’t always have to be the Alps or Europe’s other major mountain ranges. We have a continent on our doorstep that is simply unique in its diversity. I like these tours because they’re like little appetizers. It’s the little bit of training that builds anticipation for the big tour. The tours you prepare for an entire year, that you’ve had in mind for years, and that you look forward to like a child at Christmas. I am infinitely grateful to be able to do these big and small tours and to share the joy of them with others. Dan in the Mus

Thanks for sharing. I had expected a bit more attention to planning and navigation knowing you have this expertise. I see google and calimoto. But what was the third app?Maybe elaborate in the notes? Recommend a more nobby front tyre like eg TKC 80 to have more control and pleasure with ATs in the sandy bits.
