Oh, hello England. What time is it? 26. [Music] Actually, a decent sleep. I might not feel horrible today, but let’s get there first. Hello, my name is Scott, otherwise known as Cycle the Nation. This is the latest in my idiotic challenges. I am here on Dartmore, ready to start my Cycle the Nation challenge proper. 109 counties, 15 days, 3,610 km with 3.9 Everests of climbing. Come and join me for the whole journey. Driving down too steep for my car. Are we on? Are we on? Camera’s knackered as well now. Right, I’m here in the giant Li is giant Liverpool, isn’t it? Yeah. Uh, I’ve pumped the tire up. Fingers crossed it sticks together. I’ve got a spare set of wheels coming in the support van with Ethan and Mel. God, this camera’s buggered. So, yeah, huge thanks to these guys. Giving me a couple of D plugs as well. What’s your name? Sorry. Kath. This is Kath. It’s your family that runs this place. Yeah. Thank you very much. It’s really appreciated. I’m going to get round back around. Oh, look at the state of it. It’s in for a service on Friday. So, right, I’m going to get back to rendevous and um take some painkillers before I set off. So, England has greeted me back with some inclement weather typically. We are currently riding sort of southoutheast. Got to go and hit Cheshire. I’ve been joined by Ethan. He’s been on the channel before. Yeah, he’s come down. And Pete, uh they’ve come to join me for the day. So, I’ve got some company and I’ve got the guys from some guys from Kalonsdale currently pedaling south on the reverse version of my route to interceptors at some point. So, I’m going to get a grand finish. Um I’m actually feeling well I say all right, it’s a [ __ ] version of all right. operating about 25% I think this morning. But we’ll be all right. I’ve just got a slightly forcehortened route because I’d start at Mackey instead of where I wanted to. But we’re just getting out of the traffic light bits to get a move on. Hopefully get some uh get some decent tailwind today. Oh, there it is. That uh that’s what else I was going to say. Unfortunately, the extra wormhole didn’t um didn’t work. I’ve had to change rear wheel and pump it up. So, my poor set of GP5000s didn’t last the whole thing. Maybe if I didn’t have done the thread on them. Morning. Maybe if I’d not done the thread on them, it would have lasted. But they’re down to the bottom now. Look, we’re against the measy. Hello, Parve. What’s this? I didn’t ask for this. I think that needs two hands. Right, let’s get our last look at the maze before we uh before we turn north. So, we’ve got five counties left. We’re in one. It’s uh obly mer side. Got Cheshure to hit. I think it’s great at Manchester, Lancasher, and Cumbria, which is literally on the edge of Kirby Lonsdale. And I will be stopping at that side to get photos. before I cross the border. That’s certainty. How am I hungry already? Believe we’re in witness. Witness is in Cheshire. But I know cuz I had to hit it two years ago cuz I’ve just seen something that says witness back there. So we must be witness. So that’s Cheshure done. So we’re heading up towards Wigan to hit Greater Manchester. Then there’s only two left. Street Lancaster Cumbry. Have I got that right? No. Yeah. Yeah. Mury side. Mury side ch Manchester Lancaster Cumbria. My head’s battered. I can’t think anymore. [Music] Oh, that’s a dirty storm ahead as well. Yeah, we’re just going up through all the suburbs now to get up and out the way. I never like riding through stuff like this, but it’s a necessity of the course today. I’ve also got the guys from KLC coming down to meet me. They’ve got the route in reverse. I’ve probably already said this, so sorry. I just can’t think at the moment. Um, we got an interception route and I’ve not actually got any food with me today, so I might have to do a stop somewhere. We’ll work that out. I turned it off. No bed. Oh, car back. Well, first downpour’s happened. Thankfully, we’re in day. You can you can see us well enough, but rolled it up. And first hill of the day coming up. There’s only 900 m of climbing left to do. So, it’s a flat day. So, which is awesome. [Music] [Applause] Right, we are unfamiliar roads for me. We’re on the way towards I think Ch. If we’re going to be doing accents, I might as well do the English ones as well. I was on this road two years ago on my penultimate day of um every county in England and I went to see my mate Luke who might be out today actually to give us a cheer on. Yeah, an early pit stop. We’re just so depressed at the moment. 90k to go. That feels nice. It’s normally like 5:00 at night and it’s 90k to go and it’s winging it down. I’m free to go. [Applause] [Music] So, for reference, the guy you see in the Porsche is my mate Luke. Uh, Luke lives around this area, around the Charlie area. We stayed with him on the last day of the challenge in 2023. come out to give us a cheer. In addition, obviously, I’ve changed my back wheel for the original SLR. It’s got a quiet free hub. I like a noisy one. However, for a sit rep, we’ve got LA 82k to go. Should intercept the Kirby guys pretty soon. Oh, mucky mucky. Very dark. And stay over there then, boogers. I can’t tell you my feelings. Right, we’re stopped at somewhere. It’s raining, of course. Second big shower of the day. My hands aren’t working properly, so I’m having to stop to eat, which is a a concept I don’t like, but such is life. Where where the hell are we? Mhm. You don’t say Barton. You just shout AC short across them. I can’t tell because covers up the exact name that you’re in the middle of. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Village over there. Some village. Yeah. Crack on and keep warm. Check them behind us, guys. There’ll be a train coming. Come on, man. Hey, man. How are you doing? Awesome. How you feeling? Go on. Pushing my feet in. Here’s the boys. Look. And there’s Ian back there as well. Don’t take me out now. We’re on entourage home now. How cool is this? It’s still hammering it now. Taking up half a Preston now. I have to try and do this when I’m not moving cuz I can’t can’t get me Can’t get this back in my pocket. I got to try and get some footage out on the road there. Yeah, we’re getting there. 2 hours. 2 hours. 2 hours. What time is it? Yes. It’s 2 hours to 12:00 is what time it is. Yeah. Gravel rash. That’s That’s from the Fred. No. Right. Last last rest stop. How far have we got to go? Is it what? 40k behind you. No. Oh, yeah. Oh, no. We’ve just done the 50 bit, haven’t we? I’ve said that. Yeah. So, less than two hours to go. Tailwind pretty flat. There’s a gaming all a crew of eight. And looking forward to beer. Spiced rum. Some more beer. Some spiced rum. Might have a beer. Might eat some really [ __ ] food. You need five pints of Imperial Dragon. Yeah, Imperial Dragon. I’ll have to have a I’ll have to sample some of that. Anyway, um the weather’s come out for a little bit. Hopefully, it stays like this for the way on. I’m going to go say it’s not going to happen. So, I’m wrong when it is. [Music] Yes. See you later. See the P. I recognize these roads. This is a bit weird. I need as well as the people. See my injury. I’m hungry. Hungry for beer. I always find it’s into my head [Music] when you [Music] always Oh, back on my familiar lanes on local roads. Got my buddies just up in front. The welcoming committee. Oh, this is amazing. I’m absolutely done in any hill. I’m just going backwards. I don’t care. I’m nearly there. Just don’t care what we got. I don’t even know what I’ve got left to go now. It doesn’t matter. 10, 11, 12k. Preparing for the last. Nearly into single figures now. Nearly into single figures. We had a tailwind. Might get rained on. Do not give a damn. So yeah. Well, nice run in to Konsale now. And uh yeah, well hit Cumbria. Hit the Cumbria border first. That’s plan A. Nearly there now. Fast rolling in. Look at these guys. Awesome. Brilliant. Absolute support crew. They’re going to take the royal piss out of me as they should. Got a good bunch of mates. I love them to bits. Yeah, that’s village. That’s okay. [Music] [Music] [Music] Well done. Look at the state of this. Look at this. We need to convert the site. Wrong way around. Wow. I’m in the way. Stop. End ride. Yay. Well done. [Music] I need to go and stand that up. So I tell you what, put it on the bench. Yeah, do it there. Chicken girl there. It’s done somewhere. Well done, Scott. Thank you. Well done. Thank you very much. Yeah, I’m well done. Thanks. Well done. Cheers, man. Proud yourself. I’m ready for a pint. I know that much. Oh, that thing come off me. Yeah. Hello. Hello. How are you? Smell good. Hang on. It’s recording. Yes, of course. Will it Will it come? [Music] Keep it rushed. I’ll wait for one more. Slam it on the ground. See what happens. There we are. Got a saber. Slam it on the ground. Back up the bottom of the bottle. I’m in. No, no, no. Not a good idea. Back up. Another one. Here we go. Two more. My grip’s gone. [Applause] [Applause] Why not? I’d like a drink. There’s a camera. Thank you. Thank you, everyone. Um, yeah, hair is good. So, this little guy, um, I’m afraid he’s missing an arm. That is the world’s first Warhammer model to go through every county in the UK. And I’m trying to stay upright. I’ve got really, really wet feet. Um, I’m going to not do any more talking right now. Um, no, I am. I’m extraordinarily happy. This, um, this has been one hell of a journey. It’s been 3 and 1/2 years in the planning this. I’ve not got emotional yet, and I’m not sure how. Um, had a vast amount of people come out to see me. I mean, this is just what remains. Um, I’m just having a rum and coke, and I’m going to get pizza and beer, get changed cuz my feet are incredibly wet. and uh start thinking about putting this all together. I hope this has been an entertaining series for you. It’s definitely been entertaining for me. It’s taken such a lot of effort. It’s seen me through well, I don’t do religion, but it’s seen me through heaven and hell. I’ve had the hardest days of my life over the course of this genuinely. It’s been absolutely horrific and some such joyous occasions at the same time. Sorry about the dog. That’s ours. If you feel like donating, there’s a link to my crowdfunder below. I have Yeah. So, I’ve done three and a half years of planning, 3,650 km and I think no, 30 about 34,000 m of climbing. It’s been hard. It’s It’s cost me a lot of time. It’s cost me a lot of things, but I would No, I was going to say I’d do it again tomorrow, but that’s not necessarily true. Um, I’m proud and I’m glad that I’ve done it. I’m really glad. Anyway, I’m logging out. I’m going for a beer and more rum coke and pizza. Love you very much. Hello from the future. Well, there it is, ladies and gentlemen. My cycle donation challenge complete. Um, yeah, I got loads of words mixed up at the end and I’m sorry I didn’t record a great deal on the last day. It was very difficult at the time to get the camera out. You could probably get that idea from the whole series. Um, yeah, it’s wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. One thing I really, really need to do is thank all of the companies that have partnered with me. But before that, the Just Giving is still live. You can donate if you wish. Um we’re over six grand. We’re actually about 6,300 cuz some people have donated to an old Just Giving. So, thank you very very much for your donations. They’re making a positive difference to people’s lives. Yes. And the companies that have worked with me. No specific order to these at all, but Rodney’s they’ve been with me for three and a bit years now. But helping me out just fantastic company. Lovely to be working with such a local brand. Applied nutrition definitely helped the gels and the velocity fuel, which I actually still use. Of course I do. It’s good. It works. Um, well, here’s an advert. You can still use my affiliate link. Get yourself 20% off. Hunt these aerodynamicist wheels. Awesome. They’ve provided me these wheels. They’re just absolutely amazing and really came in clutch because it meant I had a set of spares on the ride. Wahoo. They gave me a element 2 uh head unit, couple of pairs of pedals, sensors. Amazing. Thank you guys. Shut up. Uh I’m still working with them now. Something else to come from them soon. Helping me out with some clothing. Celichi, keeping my noggin and my eye safe throughout. Continue to work with them. They are an amazing brand. Such lovely people at Lake Lake UK and Gra Viva provided me with these [Music] these at price just upping comfort levels when you’re doing that amount of mileage. Comfort is key. Of course, Bailey of Bristol for lending me the motor home. Uh without all of you guys, it would not have been possible. But as you can probably tell, this is many, many weeks later. I’m in a club club jersey, which is relevant because I’ve got Kobe Cycling Club to thank. Each time I do these things, they come out, they help me, they perk me up, come out, meet me on the last day, and are my local wonderful cycling club. And finally, friends and family. Thank you so much for your consideration, your friendship, your time, your dedication, your donations. It’s at times I do wonder why the hell I do these things. I really do. But you help me see through. Won’t do. Let’s have a round of applause for Jacob, shall we? Pulled up with me for 9 days on the road. Was genuinely a right-hand serviceman. Food, drinks, everything. He was just there sorting stuff out, doing everything I didn’t need to do on the bike. Just magnificent. and of course my ever suffering wife Julia for being there forever. Lots and lots and lots of people have been asking me what’s next Scott and at the moment I don’t know but we’re going to talk about that in a future video. I have lots of content coming. I’ve had a break but then I’ve needed one. I’m going to be talking about that in the next video. There’s plenty to come, but plenty of I don’t know on the way too. Uncertainty is killing me, never mind you. Anyway, right, I need to get out to the club ride cuz I got to get back before Alex gets up. I’ll see you next week, guys. Love you a lot. Bye.
