[Music] hi everyone my name is Buster I’m the founder of Buster ride um we’ve been selling electrically assisted pedal Cycles with twist and go throttle for over two years now and there’s still some confusion out there what is class as a legal electrically assisted pedal cycle um so I’m out here doing delivery today and I thought i’ make a quick video to demonstrate the laws that are in place on the UK Government website so let’s go through that now so once you Google ukg eapc rules you’ll find yourself on the government website here’s the best place to find all the information that you need um cuz there’s a lot of misinformation out there on Google so always go to the UK Go website um at the top it will show you can be 14 years and and older to ride one uh you’re not required to have a license uh you don’t need Reg rtion tax or Road insurance and then explains what counts for an eapc an eapc must have pedals that can be used to propel it so you can’t just stick pedals on a moped to try and make it in the APC it must have pedals that can Propel it um and then you have to show a couple of these requirements and then further down it says its electric motor must have a maximum power output of 250 W and it shouldn’t be able to travel faster than 15.5 mph so there’s three very important points it must have pedals that can Propel it it must have a 250 W Motor and it must not be able to travel faster than two uh 15.5 mph um once you go down uh it explains where you can ride any the APC which is anywhere you can ride a push cycle and then it says if it doesn’t meet those three points that we just spoke about then it’s not on the APC and it’s class as a motorcycle and then further down it explains that uh if it can be propelled without pedaling a Twist and go eapc then it’s required to have type approval so it meets all the eapc P eapc requirements 250 W Motor a 15.5 speed limit it does have pedals that can Propel it um but it also has a throttle so it needs to have type approval and all bus ride bikes have typ approval so you don’t have to worry wherever you ride one you’re always within the UK law so if you have any more questions you need to ask or if I’ve missed out anything please reach out and I’ll be more than happy
