Is my DJI osmo Pro 5 camera waterproof? Episode 6 Longwayold of our three month European Road Trip. Maria and I travel to Riviera, on our 25 year old Harley Davidson RoadKing Classic, starting at L’Isle sur la sorgue, Avignon ending in Aix en Provence, visiting famous market, over mix of minor and major roads
So this episode is about traveling from Ess [Music] which is just near A. you can see on the map here. And we’re going to eat some proven and back roads via Abino having a look in there on our way to Bologna. Um but we’re just making our way smelling the daisies. Uh ate some brawl bones this time and we’ll find out whether my DJI camera is waterproof. And then the day after we’re heading towards Mujan and then Mujan Monte Carlo to a haunted village just on the border of Italy onto Genanoa and then to Bologna where we’re having um a few weeks in Bologna and deciding whether we want to move on to um Bulgaria and um Sarah Jabbo and all these places or whether we are doubling back to Morocco or doing both. How beautiful is this? We’re sitting out here in the evening. Oh, perfect. Look at that. There’s a a a peticery just at the bottom of the stairs. Three three cheese chocolate cake. Three cheese chocolate cake. Apple bread. This is wonderful with cheese. I need to find out the name of it. It’s absolutely fantastic. And it’s such an old building. They’ve given us some history of it. I’ll give you the history of it. This is what we do. We are convert buildings into holiday light. It’s not an easy game cuz people cuz there’s a lot of costs and uh although people appreciate it, question is are they prepared to pay the money which would justify the cost? I mean this one’s 90 quid a night and it’s just you’re living in history and you could be you could be paying the same for a garage 1970s garage. So that’s a challenge. But um absolutely wonderful and all hats off to them because they’ve saved this building, saved it for future generations and they’ve done a very very good job. our 25year-old Harley and he’s named Wolf after the Wolf of Bedon. And the Wolf of Bedon was a bit of a bad boy. uh he sacked Elgen Cathedral, rampaged through the Highlands, and in the 13th century, he’s alleged to have played a chess match with the devil in Rodan Barracks. So, we all love a bad boy. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] So behind these walls is the historic center of a young city walls are really intact you know Edinburgh and think of York these are magnificent length Yeah, [Music] first time ever. First time ever on the Sur Leon. And it’s amazing how many times we’ve been above our butts. Never go past the cafes of the old town which which are rather lovely. We will go there and the restaurants going to do them. Yeah. So, we’ve been in a quite a while. Honeymoon, a part of a honeymoon with a we have drank beer from these uh cappies. We just uh couldn’t be bothered actually looking at the historical sites. Probably my fault. Maria loves to look at these things. Me, I’d rather be on my motor bike, but [Music] She’s one in a pillion. And if she’s one in a pion, she deserves to see historical sights. [Music] So viewers French probably square lots of We need [Music] [Music] enjoying our time in uh France. We’re heading towards Italy. We go tomorrow to uh close this Nissan anyway. Up in the hills though um just north of N just say beautiful villages there are beautiful. [Music] So, we’ve been happy with all places that we’ve stayed in. Some are better than others. This is one of the others. So, it’s got this wonderful outside space. It’s got a swimming pool. It’s a large place. Got a swimming pool and um fantastic actually. Got um you know barbecue area. We’re about uh about 15 minutes from Bons. It’s got this amazing pool area. Oh, going to look forward to diving into that. And uh then this is still just the outside. It’s got a nice size gym which is always handy. We’ve just been doing sort of um exercises using the sort of military style weights of our own body. But we’ve got this just some weights. That’s great. You got this outside um sort of cabiny thing. You’ve got this outside kitchen area. And then it’s just a small studio. You got all this space. You’ve got this uh lovely studio. It’s got an oven. It’s got hot plates which we like cuz we like to cook. And um perfectly good shower. All looks absolutely lovely. WC very perfect place that you can work on. Um and we do need to work. It’s got everything that we need. So, this is should be a waterproof camera. So, we’re going to find out. [Music] I’m going to find out now. Um, sadly, the DJI camera was not waterproof. That was the last footage you’ll get from that camera. Um, it made a funny noise. and uh stopped working. Uh it has it’s a wonderful camera. Um it has a couple of side doors which they say if you close them the uh camera is waterproof and capable of going underwater in a swimming pool. I think down to about 18 m or something. Side doors look suspect to me. They actually come off for certain devices and you have to press them back in. I certainly checked that they were uh closed. Um however, end of camera, hence why now on until I get it replaced. I’m working on an iPhone. However, I send it off to DJI. Um I had insurance that very reasonable. I think it’s about £18 you get five cameras. Um and uh I’m in Bolognia as I film this from a brand. That’s a beautiful, beautiful town. And there’s a message saying that it’s on its way to me. So, you send it back. They check it out and you’re a bit concerned about that. They’re going to say it’s my fault or whatever. I’m going to try and get out of it. But they they they didn’t and it’s on its way. I should be getting that plus a wireless mic, which I’m very much needing. So hopefully that will work from the point of view getting um uh when you’re driving a motorcycle able to speak and not have to scream into a camera. So there you go. No is the answer. My DJI camera was not waterproof. [Music]
