I finally invested in a pannier for groceries, the Arkel Shopper. It’s impressively sturdy! I was able to fit $70 of groceries and a 6lb chain with no noticeable effect on handling.
I was previously using collapsible rear baskets, but the rattle was annoying. This is a far more elegant solution, plus I’m happy to be supporting a Canadian company. Let me know if you have any recommendations for other Arkel bags.
