Had a serious flat 2 years ago while trying to catch a train, did a temporary fix… And forgot about it. This tire and patch held 2 years, and was still going strong until I saw the hole (that had probably widen) and finally changed the tire.

Whenever I get a flat on a relatively new tire, I always patch them in a similar manner. I’ve never had one fail.
Used to work at a bike shop and customers would throw their tires away after one puncture, and I’d happily retrieve them from the trash and use them myself.
I really like superglue to help prevent them from growing.
I’m going on 3 years on a very similar patch job
damn. I had to do that for like a week on a tour and it drove me nuts, even after moving it to the front. Good on ya!
